I came to donate clothes full of trunk and had very weird and mean experience from a beginning. Usually when I come at drop off line I open a front passenger window and worker that takes stuff from a car comes to a window and says “hi, where can I pick up things from your car?” … but not this time- thin, black hair young man didn’t want to come to an open window or/and to say Hi, he was standing next to back passenger door where I couldn’t even see his face, so I had to yell “hi, can you take things from my trunk ,please” and had to repeat 1-2 times because no way he could hear well from there , sure he couldn’t hear well and he finally moved to an open window asking “trunk?”… Then when he got to a trunk he kept saying “I can’t open your trunk”, so it took me probably 7 seconds ,after unlocking all buttons I could unlock and not understanding why it wouldn’t open, to get out from car and press button on a trunk door that opened right away. So issue was he couldn’t press/find a button, ok, just say simply“I can’t find a button…”, but he looked at me like I am stupid. After I opened a trunk he asked very dry “help?” Like I am his younger sister… instead of “can you help me please?”. I answered “I have a child in car” , i can’t leave my little kid in running car but in a second I realized it doesn’t take so much time to turn off the car so I did , grabbed stuff he didn’t tell me where to put them so I walked in slide doors where he was putting all my things where I was told by another employee “you cannot be here”. Black hair young man told me just to put bags down so I did walked out of the building, closed my trunk, no thank you or have a nice day from him he was just staring at me and purposely decided not to say anything. Very odd behavior...
Read moreUPDATE: Goodwill contacted me and I spoke with another manager at the Winder store. She was very kind and apologetic. She assured me that the policy is to return the payment to whatever method the customer requests and gave me my full refund. All is well
Not good guys. Never have I had an issue with Goodwill. My visits were always pretty mediocre. However, the Winder Goodwill had me fired up today when they refused to properly process a simple return. This was the SECOND time I had to return an item that didn't fit so I already knew the drill. When I made my purchase, I specifically asked about returns to make sure the policy was still the same. I was assured that if I brought my item back within seven days with the tags, I would be refunded to the original form of payment. Well, today, the Manager Corey decided that's not how it worked anymore. He refused to refund my credit card and instead offered a gift card. After I declined, he proceeded to argue with me. He stated that it was clearly written in the policy shown on the register that refunds went to a gift card. When I asked him to show me where, he read the entire policy and realized it did NOT say that. Still he refused to refund me and told me that the cashier and manager that processed my previous return were mistaken and he not followed procedure. I am livid. It seems a small misstep, but when a customer is clearly in the right and the management of a business tries to make that customer feel incompetent and cumbersome, that management needs to...
Read moreI will not be shopping or donating to Goodwill ever again. This is the final straw. Goodwill never plans to open the changing rooms again even though they won't specifically tell you that. In fact, they will tell you that if something doesn't fit, you can return it for a full refund in 7 days... This is a complete lie and they are not training their employees on how to communicate with their customers. I just spent hundreds of dollars here buying clothes for school and was told I could return them within 7 days with the tag on and when I tried to do that with the ones that didn't fit I was told that I could only receive a gift card. This is dishonest robbery. I contacted Goodwill, left them a message, sent them an email and of course they have not called me back or responded. After doing some research on the internet, it appears that Goodwill is never going to open their dressing rooms again because of apparent theft. If theft is high in certain locations then you should hire more people to manage the dressing rooms and to count how many items people are allowed to take in and how many they bring back out. This could be a way to hire more people and to employ more people who need jobs, but apparently you don't want to do that. According to the article Goodwill stated they are losing profits from the theft. I'm sorry but your profits come strictly from donations from your loyal customers and beyond. Never again Will I be associated...
