Ichiban Buffet — Restaurant in Winder

I was immediately greeted upon entering. I came in about 4:30. Staff is friendly. Although the building may not be the newest, the place was clean. The bathroom was clean often. The waitresses did a fantastic job cleaning up as people left. Tables were you left, waiting to ve cleaned off. They were attentive.. So much so that I tipped almost half of what I paid. Food was fresh and tasted good. The gentleman who made the sushi knew what he was doing. Twice when I went to get food, there was a gentleman that came put and informed what was needed at the buffet. Very efficient! I've not seen that before at any buffet. It's like other Chinese/Asian buffets I've been to, as far as what they offer. I've been to others that offer more. Would I recommend them or return? Yes. The photos are if what I ate.... that's how good it was! 😁🤗 They did have various ice cream bars ice cream in smaller containers, as well as other dessert. I like the sanitary aspect of that instead of open containers of ice cream and many different people using the ice cream scoops... imagine the kids!! 😅 So I would give a plus for the packaged ice...

Sometimes it's great, and sometimes not. If you go during non peak hours, like 2 pm, it's a no. The last time I was there, the food was OK, not great, but the service was terrible. The two people working the dining room stood together under the TV's talking very loudly to a girl prepping food (in the dining room) the entire time I was there. You could not hear anything else, they were SO loud. They'd pause every 10 minutes, walk through the dining room in less than a minute, immediately return to their conversation. One of them was cleaning big vats of green beans, and I decided I will never eat the green beans here again. You'd THINK the food was prepared in a clean and organized kitchen, but obviously not. One thing very consistent: the diet Pepsi is terrible. I don't know what's wrong with it, but it is awful. And since it's about $2, skip that. Sometimes the "sushi" is good, but most of the time it is mostly rice and vegetables with variety of sauces squirted on top. This was an excellent place when it...

I'm not big on Chinese food, and even though it was my first time eating here, I have to say that they have great food and service! I would have given it five stars had I not found hair in my food... Twice. The first time, in the sushi (I pulled it out of my mouth); but, I didn't say anything because I thought it might have been mine. I finally said something when I found hair in the coconut shrimp. The waitress tried to say that it's an open bar and anyone's hair could have gotten there. Which might have been true, if I hadn't found it all embedded inside the food. But, I hate to argue and she was really nice as she gladly took my plate away. Our waitress was really good on staying on top of filling our drinks for us and keeping our table clean during our entire experience there. They keep the place very tidy/clean (including bathrooms!) and they are very keen on making sure that the food trays never go empty. So, you'll always have something...
