Horrible service from a specific worker, every time he is on duty there is an issue while he is rude and talks over you. Wonât listen and cuts you off. Sharif (could have the spelling wrong), trying to get a prescription my doctor sent in after I had a procedure/surgery done today. Doctor sends it in electronically like he normally does with my medications (spine doctor). Sharif refuses to fill the prescription until he personally speaks to the doctor due to another prescription I have that is used for managing my chronic pain. I went through and told him why the addition and how it was just for a few days, while Iâm recovering. Since this surgery/procedure today was specifically for hopefully helping me minimize my pain significantly or God willing go months without pain. So I wonât need pain medicine to help with my debilitating back pain. The procedure I had today was excruciatingly painful so my doctor/surgeon prescribed me a short supply of something that should provide more help until the procedure pain either calms down or goes away within a few days. My surgeon/doctor sent it in around 4:00-5:00, which is the only doctor that prescribes any of my pain managing medication. I called to check in on it and the system said it was processing. So my husband goes to go pick it up. He (my husband) is RUDELY met with staff that talk to him like he is a disgrace and a waste of their time. Keep in mind during this all our 4 year old toddler is in the car with my husband. Iâm not with him due to not being able to move from laying in bed on my side from the agonizing pain from the surgery. My husband so upset over how he is being spoken to and treated, leaves, I call the pharmacist and I immediately knew who it was. The only staff person that causes so must distress and is so incredibly rude and with holds my medications for antidepressants, anxiety and pain management whenever he is on duty that my doctor(then psychiatrist for the mental health prescriptions) prescribed to me. This time he decided to hold hostage my prescription for post/op pain so my body can heal and hopefully start my path of little or maybe even no pain. Sharif who appears to be on some kind of power trip says there is an insurance issue then jumps to he needs to speak to my doctor that prescribed my meds. I told him one is specifically for todayâs post op pain. The other is managing my chronic pain which hopefully after healing from this procedure there will be no need. He cut off and Iâm told that what I say doesnât matter because âI donât matterâ and he must speak to the doctor. Yet, the doctor is the one who sent the prescriptions in! Literally barely an hour ago and I saw him today and had my procedure today and the anesthesia is no longer helping keep my pain at bay and it is getting far worse and intense. He went back and forth from it being an insurance issue to him needing to speak to my doctor. I guess some art truly meant for the healthcare industry because they forget the âcareâ part. Instead he seems to enjoy his little sense of authority and being so rude and condescending. He should NOT be in any kind of customer service job, especially not one that involves a pharmacy in some sense. Personally, I would never want someone like these people to represent the pharmacist field, let alone a majorly known company like Walgreens. There are far more effective and kinder ways to speak to someone than to basically tell them they do not matter and that they âcan say whatever they want because heâs the pharmacist and only needs to speak to the doctorâ
UPDATE: My husband ended up calling Shariff again and speaking to him and he even stated âI donât have to give a reason, I can deny any prescription I want.â After my husband being who he is and mainly focusing on helping me. I guess fluffed this manâs (Sharifâs) deflated ego enough with then he decided to go ahead and fill the prescription. This is also after I took it upon myself to contact my insurance. They stated there was no issue and it was already approved as soon as they...

Brandon, the pharmacist, is absolutely the best. He is extremely knowledgeable, always friendly, and takes time to advise on possible adverse reactions. Even in casual conversations, he shows a strong understanding of over-the-counter medications, which is reassuring and helpful.
The other pharmacist Sherif is great too. He may give a strict vibe but when you talk to him he is outstanding with advice. I saw someone post that he was rude and calling the doctors office. It is protocol for those type of medications. I have known both pharmacist for a long time and they are just going by policy and the book which is more than acceptable in my book. It does suck when having to wait for some medications but it is completely understandable as the FDA and DEA along with policies have limited pharmacist abilities to fill certain medications under certain circumstances.
The pharmacy techs are also fantasticâespecially the college student with long hair and tattoos and the female tech with darker hair. Both were very welcoming, professional, and provided excellent customer service.
We were having some issues with insurance coverage, and they immediately jumped into action. They quickly identified the problem with the coverage code and got everything resolved without delay.
The speed of service was impressiveâI was told the wait would be 20 minutes, but I had my prescriptions in under 5 minutes!
Because of this experience, I have transferred all of my prescriptions to this location. The level of support and care here is simply unmatched.
Keep up the great...
Read moreI live in Athens. I take a controlled substance for my ADHD. I took my last dose this morning. My pharmacy said they would get a shipment today, well that turned into tomorrow. They suggested I call around to see if any other pharmacies maybe had inventory. They are the pharmacy in Publix in Athens. Great people.
So I called almost every pharmacy in Athens, nothing until tomorrow.
I then was told maybe I should try Winder pharmacies. I called one....the Walgreens.
I informed the lady who took my call my situation. She put me on hold. A handful of minutes later, a man picked up the phone. I told him my situation.
His response was short, curt, and I'm paraphrasing - "We only help those that are in the Winder area. You should be concerned with Athens pharmacies."
I said thank you and hung up. It took me a minute, but then it dawned on me, he thought I was trying to score drugs. (?) Or I don't know really...But I got his drift.
I finally contacted Oconee Drugs Pharmacy, per my doctor's suggestion, and they have my medication in stock. :)
Walgreens in Winder sure could use a...
