Capone's Original Old Time Picture Studio — Local services in Wisconsin Dells

We went here Saturday February 27th 2021. We were excited to get pictures taken for my friends husband birthday. When we came in the old lady asked my friend and I to share a dressing room even tho we were the only people in there getting our pictures taken at the time. We thought it was weird but said ok. They had laundry baskets in there to put your belongings in. I put my purse on the bottom and the my friend put her purse on top of mine and then we put our clothes on top of them and laid our shoes next to the basket. We went to the front to get our pictures done. The older lady that was getting us ready for the picture's kept getting distracted by the people that were walking in. We waited a good 15 minutes before we actually got our pictures taken and it was a younger girl that ended up taking them because the older lady decided to take info for someone that wanted a job instead of worrying about us that she already started with. After taking the picture's they told us to take off our accessories and to come look at the picture's. We went to look at the pictures and they were all blurry. So it was kind of annoying but we put on our stuff again to retake picture's. After we got the picture's done and decided what picture we wanted my friend and I want to get changed. As we were walking to the dressing room we noticed the older guy that was working was on his knees in our dressing room and had all of our clothes all over the floor and he was going through our basket. Once he noticed we were behind him he grabbed all our clothes and tossed them back in the basket and said we left them all over and he needed to get into the closet that was in there. As my friend called him out asking him what the hell he was doing I picked up the clothes that he tossed in the basket and my friends purse was open and $60 was laying out in the basket and the stuff in the purse was all over in the basket. This guy opened her purse and then opened her wallet to get to this cash. By the end once we put all the stuff back into her purse she was missing $100 in $20 bills. The guy hurried out of there and the older lady came back and was looking through stuff to see if we could locate the $100. The guys was all over the place once we caught him so he could have shoved it anywhere. Needless to say we couldn't find the money and my friend is out $100. We decided to call the cops. They did have cameras and the cop was able to watch them and gave the guy the opportunity to give my friend her money back or get taken down to the police station and get a ticket. Of course the guy said he didn't have it and the cops took him and gave him a ticket. The owner lived a couple blocks away and didn't bother coming down or helping us in any way. She keeps deleting the review my friend has posted about what happened. If thats not shady I dont know what is. We will be posting this in every place we can so people don't get scammed like we did. We will also be contacting BBB! Please beware of this place!! It makes me sick how you can defend a employee that steals. Customers catch him red handed and you stick up for him. Im glad we are local and can make sure everyone we know stays away from your place. Word of mouth goes a long way and when you defend a person that got caught red handed you are the problem to. You and the officer heard us yell what the hell are you doing when we got to our dressing room it was all on camera. So keep defending a employee that steals from your customers. I’ve gone here since I was 14, I’m now 39. Same photos & backgrounds. It would be nice to see some new themes. They have a great & polite staff but I had some troubles asking about ordering additional photos after I paid for my originals framed. I get if they can’t send copies but I never got a final response about an entire order I wanted to put in for Xmas gifts & ended up having another place do all my color changes & framing from my originals? I have 25 additional photos & frames I was going to order & I never got a response about asking for a color change in the original profile, which was my oversite but I was still attempting to maintain business here?I did not hear back after a few conversations about my final request though? I wish I did but I’m not begging to give anyone business I already gave when I’ve already paid for 3 originals, framed them & had a file for my family w/ 4 photos in the past few yrs (mind you I had 4 others under other names from prior vacation visits bc Ive always gone to this very particular place despite the dozens of others in this town & in view??) It’s my 1 tradition at the Dells. I’ve taken photos w/ my friends 3xs when I was younger, w/ my mom, cousin, & kids as we got older, bachelorette photos for weddings we were in & my only family photos from this one place. It was disappointing not hearing back after my final request, I made 2, considering I’ve gone back to this place every single time I’ve been to the Dells in the past 22 yrs.? I have been coming here for now 4 years now in a row typically quite a happy customer this year was not so happy with the customer service of the photographer and assistant they provided no direction in photos it seemed like they were not happy. The girls were not engaging with us as previous years that we had in the past we had an older gentlemen and a different man last year. On this occasion during this shoot one girl was asked about giving direction by what seemed to be a younger manager and she was like I’m not giving direction the girl taking photograph is which the photographer was not and seemed like she was thrown under the bus. One of the girls had mention that I had unmanageable hair like hers and I was thinking to myself well that was rude. Out of 25 or 26 photos taken only 2 of them were good so went with those but which is rare for us cause typically we have such a great photographer and interaction. I hope this will help with future services I did select the 2 photos I was happy with just the customer service could use work. Peggy was favulous and the girl with glasses and dark hair who seemed more like a manager was helpful as well.
