AVOID. We had a disappointing experience at UBU. The avocado toast had no flavor, and the bread was tough to eat, which made it unenjoyable. My wife didn’t eat hers after one bite, and the pancakes we ordered were also problematic—difficult to cut and chew, which is concerning, especially for my child had we not noticed it she could’ve choked on this catastrophe. We had no idea we ordered gluten-free pancakes, but gluten or not they were inedible. I had five more little bites just out of amazement that somebody could make an unchewable pancake. Unfortunately, when we reordered regular pancakes (after paying for the gluten-free ones and having to pay again for the non-gluten ones without any awareness on their part or taking any responsibility ), the second order never arrived, even after waiting 30 minutes. My family had already left and I stayed and waited just out of amazement to see how long it would take to make replacement pancakes, but they never came. I will always wonder what happened to those pancakes. Additionally, the coffee was served extremely hot, and the service was below expectations and without any warmth or personality. This was our first meal in Buenos Aires, and I hope this experience isn’t indicative...
Read moreOnly positive thing was the young friendly personell. How much can you do wrong with a eggs, bread, an espresso and a fresh orange juice. Eggs mixed with old kelp, espresso order changes into a watery filter coffee, the advertised fresh orange juice is a chemical artificial mix of the cheapest kind, served with stall bread....... No wonder the place was empty, even with such a nice interior. Prices though were of the highest level.... Totally fake place and looking at all the 5 star reviews also with a lot of fake reviews.... Be warned!
Being called a liar by the owner, let me just say this. Usually I only use these reviews for compliments as I don't like negativity. Anyone can check this in my reviews. So when I as international tourist with no connection to this restaurant, take time in my holiday to describe my utter dissapointment, I hope owners do something with it. Seeing his reaction with no self reflection at all..... As...
Read moreI came in for a coffee and avocado toast with a brownie. Ambiance seems nice, ingredients seem fresh but I waited 45 mins for my order. I noticed everyone else, who ordered after me, receiving their food before me as well.
When I asked about my order, they said that the avocado toast takes longer, 40+ mins I suppose? The food was fine but nothing worth that kind of a wait.
I want to offer something constructive for the staff... You can tell me you lost my order, at least that's understandable but if you tell me avocado toast takes 45mins, I would not return.
Update* adding one star, the staff apologized for the wait and offered a reasonable explanation which is, they only have one oven for certain menu items like avocado toast, and there was an unusually long queue for items requiring that oven. Fair enough.. I'll give them another try and...
