Went here for New Year's Eve. They over promised over the phone, and very much under delivered. They also took our 40,000 AMD cash deposit and never gave it back.
They promised a musical performance beginning at 9. By the time we left at 11:30, it still hadn't started. They promised a bottle of prosecco per person over the phone, but then they said they were only providing 1 per table, regardless of size. Tables of 2 would get 1, as would our table of 4, which makes very little sense.
The food was mediocre. There is far better Middle Eastern food available in Yerevan
When we asked to leave (before midnight), they gave us at least some more prosecco, but still not what they had promised on the phone. They also tried to delay giving us the check to try to prevent us from leaving. Finally, we were able to leave, but our New Year's Eve was ruined. We ended up paying nearly $500 USD in total (due to the stolen deposit) for very little food, no performance, and prosecco. Even at similar restaurants in the US on New Year's Eve we would have gotten more food and alcohol for...
Read moreDid someone say SALTY?? I certainly didn't. Which is puzzling considering how unbearably seasoned it came, such that you couldn't taste the meat. After stellar performances of the same dish on two previous visits, someone got way too heavy handed this time. It's sad that something this basic could be so far off. I made the situation known to two different waiters but all seemed powerless to do anything. No effort to make amends. No gesture from them or management that would show they cared. One even suggested the problem could be with my palate. Unfortunately, unlike salt that can't be taken out once it's in, 3 of these stars are going to have to go from my original review. It will be a while before my parched mouth is hydrated again, but until then, I'm afraid Babylon has...
Read moreI would have given it 5 stars if it was not for the waiters. For such a luxury place, a waiter must be always taking care of their customers. We've been there 4-5 times already for the food but all of it gets ruined when you need to actually "find" a waiter and order to them. They'd tell you "sorry today is a busy day sir, it is not our fault" but anyway, it is the Staff managements' fault! So please don't ruin the delicious meals with bad service. And about the live music, It would be nice if they organize the speakers in ways that they don't bother the ones sitting next to the stage. This is one of my favorite restaurants and I feel bad when the moment...
