Update - Instead of an apology or committing to better service, a restaurant says that my opinion and experience as a customer was wrong and not valid. Ok. For all that know how customer service should be, this response by the company should tell you all you need to know.
Where can I begin? As someone who does not write many reviews, I felt the need to discuss and warn others about this establishment -- especially if they are foreigners and expect quality food and/or service.
Starting off, we were given dirty glasses and silverware to use. After being seated, we ordered water and beer, and the glasses given to us were dirty and had residue and taste of a previous customer's beverage. No apologies were given when we told our waitress, Alice, about this.
Next, the food menus did not adequately describe the food. Not only did it take an excessively long time to arrive to us, but the items given had extra cheese and other items on them, which might not be problematic for all, but for people who have allergies, it would be problematic.
Next, the food was of poor quality. The salad given was bland, and the pork ribs given were also dull and tasteless. A far cry from the promise the restaurant should offer.
Finally, after getting the check, I was greeted with a rude and dismissive attitude by our waitress, Alice, again. I do not understand why asking for the change from a bill after a 10 minute wait is something abnormal. Again, no apologies for any bad or lacking service was given once. It felt like we were inconveniencing the waitress by being customers.
Needless to say, I will never come here again and will actively tell all individuals in my network to avoid this place while these bad practices are...
Read moreSimply spectacular beer, with the tastiest nachos and cheese with salsa on the side I’ve ever tasted. The flight was absolutely perfect. There were three options available, the one chose had 4 fantastic beer and one good one. The APA was good, but because of the perfection of the others I didn’t love it as much. The local connection to the apricot was a pleasant surprise. I was worried about a potentially sweet flavor, instead it was perfect balance with subtle hints of apricot that both linger as well as suddenly pop out while drinking. The lager was wonderful, had to order one on its own after the flight. The malt was a pleasant addition to the flavor without being overpowering. The blond was fresh and easy to drink, but the genuine surprise for me was the porter. I love Guinness (I know a very different beer), but find many stout and porter to be too coffeeish and tough to drink. This Baltic porter was the complete opposite. It was smoother than I remotely expected and I had to keep putting it down to just smile before taking another sip. As a side note, all of the food smelled and looked amazing, I wish I was hungrier when I visited as everything looked terrific. I wanted a simple snack with my beer and chose the cheese nachos… highly recommend the salsa. Along with the jalapeños, what an amazing combo, simple dipping tortillas with cheese and salsa have never tasted so good! The salsa is...
Read moreAt every store and many restaurants in Yerevan, you'll see bottles of Dargett's craft beer. But that's only a small sampling of this fantastic place. Come to the restaurant for the best beer in the Caucuses, of course, but also the best menu, atmosphere, covered summer patio, and attentive & quick service. I appreciate their staff of many fluent English speakers, too. For the last 3 years, Dargett has been our favorite place in town, and they keep improving. The menu is extensive with something for vegetarians, omnivores, healthy eaters, and those just wanting to snack. The burgers are close competition to two other places in town, but Dargett has no match when you're craving a burger-beer combo. I love the falafel wrap and the new chicken souvlaki, a platter three skewers of juicy chicken breast marinated in Greek spices. The beertenders are hyper efficient and always do a solid pour. Brews rotate occasionally, and their seasonal offerings like a Rye IPA are so good I'd come daily. For mainstays, I love the high-IBU Imperial IPA, but definitely try one of their 3 flights if you've never been...
