We had dinner here with a party of 6. Great service and lovely, accommodating staff. I am vegan and the staff were very happy to check with the chef if certain things were ok for me. I very much appreciate this - thank you! The only reason I knocked 2 stars off was for the menu and then the food respectively - there were only 4 vegan options, 2 entrees and 2 mains. I had the veggie spring rolls which are vegan. They were very oily. So much so that I had to squish the excess oil out with my napkin so it didn't ooze down my chin and hands when I ate. I gave up on them eventually. The table also ordered the salt and pepper eggplant which is vegan, it was delicious but again very oily. The table also ordered the pork, prawn and crab spring rolls which were again, very oily. The mains were lovely, I had the mango veg and tofu. The tofu was expertly prepared and the veggies were perfect, fresh and crunchy. The rest of the table enjoyed their meals, they ordered the whole crispy barramundi, the soft shell crab, a barramundi curry and a mango chicken dish. There were no complaints. It's just a shame that there are such limited options for the vegans and vegos among us, please consider adding some more options to your menu, especially some fresher/ less oily or...
Read moreUPDATE - Since posting the below review I have been contacted by Lemongrass Thai Bistro management. They have been extremely apologetic and provided me with a full refund of our meals, plus the promise to educate their staff regarding the legal rights of Assistance Dogs and their handlers. I hope the below never happens to anyone else again.
Thankyou to Thy for his apologies and efforts to make “things right”. I appreciate it.
ORIGINAL POST - My wife and I attended this restaurant with my qualified and accredited Assistance Dog. He was wearing his vest and I had ID I could show if asked. On a 30 degree evening we politely asked to sit at a table in the back of the restaurant so my Assistance Dog wouldn’t be in the way.
We were refused and simply told “outside” by staff. I didn’t want to cause a scene so we took a table outside where we were the only diners. I had not entered the restaurant at all, and had made my enquiries whilst standing in the door frame.
We had a lovely couple approach us from inside the restaurant who were disgusted at our treatment.
I have attempted to contact Lemongrass Thai via their email but have received no response. The food was nice but our whole experience was soured by the treatment from staff...
Read moreLemongrass Thai Bistro is undeniably bustling and popular, reflecting its widespread appeal. However, the culinary experience might not fully align with traditional Thai flavors, seemingly tailored to suit Australian tastes. While the food is palatable, it lacks the authenticity one might expect, evident even in the Tom Yum soup. Despite this, the bustling atmosphere suggests a general satisfaction among patrons, hinting that the adjusted flavors cater well to the local palate. If you're seeking a vibrant ambiance and decent Thai-inspired cuisine, Lemongrass Thai Bistro delivers, but purists might miss the true essence of authentic Thai flavors.
Considering the bustling atmosphere at Lemongrass Thai Bistro, a crucial enhancement would be to augment the staff. Additional personnel could alleviate the strain on the existing team, ensuring prompt service and an improved dining experience. By increasing staffing levels, the restaurant can manage peak hours more efficiently, minimizing wait times and enhancing overall customer satisfaction. This strategic move not only benefits the patrons but also fosters a positive working environment for the staff, ultimately contributing to the restaurant's...
