We visited Mother Vine for the first time, and got the Fringe express menu. The starters were absolutely delicious, and came out in good time. Unfortunately the mains were a little dissapointing. The brisket came out first, however the salad arrived approximately 20 minutes later, after asking two waitresses, two separate times, if it would be arriving soon. Both waitresses said they would check with the kitchen, but neither returned with any information. By the time the salad came, the brisket was ice cold (it never reached our table hot). The salad consisted of one cherry tomato cut into quarters, and 4 small chunks of Cucumber, and large leaves of lettuce. It was fresh though, and the dressing was good. The polenta chips that were advertised never did arrive, however a bowl of potato chunks was brought to our table, only once the brisket and salad had been eaten, and their plates taken away. We were told there was only one fryer working, and that's why they took so long. We were looking quite forward to the polenta chips, and were never told why we didn't get them. The potatoes were well cooked and tasty, however would've been good eaten with the rest of the main meal. The staff were lovely and friendly, and the atmosphere, particularly the band, was wonderful. It was our anniversary dinner. I would be happy to give Mother Vine another try, in the hope the experience would be a...

"Just a reminder that this table is booked for 6pm"

This is what was told to my friends and I at 5:50pm, after I had just ordered my second drink. We sat down at the table around 5pm and there was no reserved sign. Reminder? This is the first time hearing this. We had not been told at any time, that the table was reserved. I recieved my drink at 5:55pm and had to hurry to drink it before being forced to leave. Before this, I ordered a beer. I was waiting for about 10 - 15 minutes when a girl walking around serving others suddenly realised that she had not told me that the beer I ordered was not available. 20 minutes to get a beer is ridiculous! Rather than table service, there should be the option to be served and pay at the bar. The POS at the entrance was very awkward and cramped as well. This place has potential but definitely is not somewhere I'd be rushing back to anytime soon. I hope this feedback can help avoid unpleasant visits for patrons in the...

Mother Vine was a really nice night out for dinner and drinks. We celebrated my friends birthday there. So you can book big tables if you need. Unfortunately they didnt have some of the wines we wanted and they ran out of potatoes. BUT we had a really nice waiter named Liam and he said they only had 6 potatoes left and we got the last ones!! So we Thankyou Liam for feeding us pigs! They were delicious! Liam looked after us all night, even though they didnt have some of the wines we wanted, he looked for the alternative, and they too, were delish! The staff were so great and the food was absolutely mouth watering! Would recommend trying out Mother Vine at least once. I had the Gnocchi and it was very tasty, I may of been burping up some chorizo a few hours after - but it was totally worth it! The pumpkin dip was also delicious, but the halloumi and chilly honey was the star for me!! I would eat that over and over again!!! Thankyou for a great night out...

Magnificent! My sister suggested we book to celebrate my birthday while visiting from Melbourne and this gorgeous restaurant did not disappoint. I loved my experience at Mother Vine - from seating to bill we were charmed by the staff and treated to lovely drinks and food. We were seated at the window and enjoyed an Aperol Spritz cocktail and a glass of champagne to start. The food is bite-sized tapas, but we certainly did not leave hungry. We shared sashimi kingfish, prawns, lobster and beef dishes, and finished with blue cheese and crackers - all washed down with a lovely glass of white wine. The service was fantastic and made us feel very welcome. Definitely recommended!!

Now I know what you're thinking. "That looks like dog food on a cracker!" (The tartare) And well, ya got me there. But it was delicious dang it ! Look, the food was amazing, can't fault it. The only thing I would say is that the table was still hungry after and we weren't the only ones. (Relating to a set menu). One person did not eat seafood, so in lieu of receiving the miso fish wing, they received a dish of five slices of cucumber. Come on now. Once again, delicious, but only enough for a few mouthfuls, did not consider it good value, especially when compared against the likes of Fugazzi, Osteria, Herringbone.
