Very unfortunate experience; a potentially great restaurant paying the consequences of overbooking and understaffing
I really don't like giving places bad reviews, especially when I can see the potential through everything; however, my experience here really left me with no choice
My partner came here for Valentine's and found the place (rightfully so) completely packed - I knew this place was good, so I expected it The thing we didn't anticipate was us and 4 other couples waiting over half an hour for our bookings to be fulfilled Once we got a table I thought itd be smooth sailing, however, the restaurant was way to busy for the amount of staff they had available. As a result, service was next to none (we had to stop a waiter to get water), the food was rushed/subpar (cold saganaki being an example), and the whole experience was overshadowed by significant delays between meals/service
I know there's some aspects that may have been out of their control, but there were aspects that definitely were, namely ensuring they had enough staff/time to ensure quality service. Being busy is not an excuse
Now onto the food The food itself was good (albeit rushed due to the pressure). Very overshadowed though
I might be back at a less busy point to give a fairer review, but I think this is still nonetheless a...
Read moreThis was a very disappointing experience. The first time we came, the food was great, although the owner wasn't very friendly. This time, the waitress was lovely but the food was not very good at all. The food was soaked in oil, to the point where I felt sick before we even left. There is no way the food should be bathed in so much oil, to the point where it was like a sauce. It was far too expensive for such a disappointing experience. I understand you don't do gluten free bread, but to pay an extra $9 for rice as the food was supposed to be absorbed by something (as we were told) seemed a bit unfair. Additionally, $17 for an aperol spritz that was from a pre-made bottle was sub-par and also very disappointing, as it wasn't very nice. Today was a special occasion and to have it spoiled by a meal that made me sick and wasn't up to standards of a traditional Greek meal was extremely disappointing. We've been twice now and it's fair to say, we don't believe it's worth coming back again unfortunately. I love supporting gluten free friendly places, but the quality and price do not align to justify...
Read moreDon’t bother booking! We booked a table outside as it was a nice night and we wanted to enjoy the fresh air and nice atmosphere. When we got there we were told they had “overbooked” and they no longer had any outside tables. No apology or remedy offered. We sat inside and had our orders taken by a polite but very disinterested young waitress. The food came out quickly and was very small and overpriced. I paid almost $8 for 4 tiny pieces of bread with some olive oil, and almost $30 for an entree serve of octopus and brocollini. Different waiters approached and cleaned the table with no acknowledgement or check ins at any time. All seemed almost bored. At the end when asked how everything was, we mentioned it would have been better if we had sat outside. Our first waitress seemed unbothered and didn’t respond. The older waitress said “we should have moved you” and left it at that. Very disappointed by the poor service and extremely overpriced tiny portions. This place seems to rely on its location and doesn’t really care about...
