Hard to fault this place for its dedication to serving coffee to Brisbane 24-7. I only drink cold coffee so happily they have cold brew and it's decent. The cold brew flavour has more of a simple flavour that I would imagine appeals to people used to drinking black espresso. I'd buy it again although I prefer cold brew with more complex, naturally sweet flavours. I don’t know why most places insist on such large cups for cold coffee. This is quite strong cold brew so the large serving they gave was far more than I wanted, especially in the afternoon. On a hot day they could afford to put a lot more ice than the bit she gave me which had melted before I had drunk even a quarter of it. Cold brew with a strong flavour like this one needs the ice to take the edge off it and make it more palatable. More ice also means that if you do take a while to drink it, it becomes more watered down and the taste isn’t as harsh… but being cold is a nicer way to achieve this. If you don’t need such a hige serving I’d suggest asking them to fill the cup with ice. Less ice causes a false economy if you only end up drinking half of it anyway.

My dog has recently gotten into the habit of waking me up really early in the morning and because I’m sympathetic to the fact that I only have around 12-15 years of mornings with him in my life, and that his bladder is about the third of the size of mine, I find it hard to say no to a walk at 4am. I am really grateful to have this place in the neighbourhood to give me the incentive to say “yes” to the walk. I order a large coffee with 1 extra and 1 alternative milk, it costs me $8 which is an amazing price for the hours this friendly team are having to pull to make it happen. I would pay $10+ for the luxury of having this and not think twice. I recommend trying the dirty chai <3

I had Death Before Decaf circled on my to-do list as soon as I found out I was going to Brisbane. Being in town for two nights meant I could take the walk from my hotel to the shop at least a couple of times. In addition to the amazing decor, soundtrack, and merch available - the long black was the best I had over my whole trip. Carl and Nicola were both so kind - and I can’t wait to go back. A definite must for anyone that wants to be caffeinated at any hour, day or night, and you can listen to some great punk rock while you wait! I hope this place is around for a long, long time.

My friends and I usually go to this place once or twice a fortnight for the last few years. Usually the service and drinks are spot on but last night wasn’t okay.

We collected our drinks. Not only were the baristas rude to our male friend, said friend ordered a hot chocolate and it was BOILING hot. We live about 45 mins away from the establishment and once we arrived home, the hot chocolate had only began cooling down enough to drink.

Our guy friend placed the order, the barista didn’t say anything to him at all (besides the usual “what can I get you?”) and just pointed at the terminal to pay. When he collected our drinks - he said thank you and have a great night. The baristas eyeballed him. My other friend and I said thank you to the staff and they were friendly to us. Not trying to insinuate anything but it was quite clear they had no interest in having basic politeness towards him.

We usually swing by after going out for dinner for a coffee and dessert. I don’t think we will come back here again, this isn’t the first time we’ve experienced below acceptable customer service from some of the staff. Since we first tried this place, the coffee has definitely dropped massively in quality. We used to bring so many of our mates to this place after work but last night was...

I came in to buy a coffee this morning and asked for a small latte with cold milk and if they could use fresh milk from the fridge so it's colder. The man accused me of saying his milk was not good and said go somewhere else. I was very confused. I repeated what I wanted small latte, please use cold milk not hot. He then refused to serve me. I tried to say im not saying his milk was bad at all. I felt so humiliated because the shop was full. Another lady then said I will serve you I then repeated my order to her and said he was extremely rude. when my coffee was ready, I went to pick it up and the coffee was hot they had still used hot milk instead of cold. I was shocked and asked for my money back and went down to the new coffee shop cafe called Kevin on the corner they understood straight away what I was asking for and made me one. The embarrassment really upset me I will always go to the cafe Kevin for now on, and their coffee is...
