DO NOT DINE IN AT THIS RESTAURANT! Called to book for a table for 3, didn't even answer with the business name, I asked if the venue was air conditioned as it was extremely hot, assured it was. Arrived to a near empty restaurant that was stinking hot. No greeting on arrival, after 10 minutes the waitress came over, we asked for more time, we then had to go and find her to place our order after she forgot about us for 15 minutes. We then waited for an hour before I politely questioned where our meals were, i was told the order didn't go through to the kitchen. Surely the waitress should have questioned what was happening (remember, the restaurant was near empty) was told it would be 10 minutes tops, had to ask a second time where our meals were after we watched other people walk in, order and get served quicker than we did. We finally got our meals after waiting an hour and a half. Upon leaving, the manager who briefly dined with some of the other guests who only waited 15 minutes to order and receive meals, offered some unintelligible excuse, something along the lines of "weve been very busy with Uber orders", well then how did others walk in, order and get their meals within 20 minutes? The best he would offer was a 20% discount and a free drink. It was blatantly clear that dine in customers come a very poor second to their UberEats customers. This is the worst service I've ever experienced in a restaurant...
Read moreGnocchi with Cauliflower Unfortunately, this dish didn’t come together the way it should have. The gnocchi were undercooked and had a dense, floury texture — more like doughy lumps than the soft, delicate pillows you'd expect. Pan-frying them didn’t help; instead of a golden, crisp finish, they felt slightly raw in the center and unpleasantly chewy. The cauliflower purée lacked depth and seasoning, leaving it tasting bland and watery. It didn’t provide enough contrast or richness to balance out the heaviness of the gnocchi. The garlic and spinach were underwhelming — neither brought much to the table, Altogether, this felt like a rough draft of a dish: good ingredients in theory, but poorly executed. It needs better seasoning, more care in preparation, and proper cooking technique to deliver on...
Read moreThe tasty and generous food, excellent customer service from the genuinely friendly staff and the relaxed atmosphere have kept me coming back to Half Pint Kitchen + Bar several times in the last month. After experiencing their new cocktail list last night, I have found just another reason to return. With some true classics like Martinis, Mojitos and the Old Fashioned and some funkier sips like the Peach Peony, Green slipper and the Naughty Nanna, there is something for everyone. I had the Basil Southside! A delicious mixture of sweet citrus from mandarin, lime juice and sugar syrup and earthy tones from the basil infused gin, and basil flower, the drink was as perfectly balanced as the...
