AWFUL AWFUL SERVICE

Placed a verbal over the counter order for $36.85 (the order included 3 chicken nuggets @ $5.75). Was served by Piper and gave her $37.00 cash. I then saw 3 nuggets and a medium chips for $3.95 on the counter top promotional screen. Before the change arrived I asked Piper if we could change the order as that’s better value than $5.75. Piper said we should have ordered that first and seemed disturbed by my request to amend the order. I said it was better value and she could have mentioned it at the time of our order. She then said she will check with the manager.

A person not wearing a name badge then came to the counter and said our order is our order if we wanted the 3 nuggets and chips we should have ordered it (that’s what I was doing). I responded by explaining what happened and that Piper could have informed us of the better value when we placed our order. The person without the badge said she would have done the same as Piper. Told her I have been in customer service for more than 30 years and I would have informed the customer of the 3 nuggets and medium chips.

The person without the name badge refused to change the order and appeared to get pleasure in informing me that she was refusing us service. Instead of my order, I received a $36.85 refund.

Asked her for her name and she did not answer me – so I took her picture.

What sort of service is this and what was this about...??? Piper appeared to be new and may have been flustered by the challenge of amending an order. The person without a name badge seemed to get pleasure from being rude and aggressive - I expect she has done this before. Was it also a case of age discrimination against me and race discrimination against my younger...

1 Star because of my most recent experience but so far a pretty slack store.

The cashier who seemed was possibly also the manager got upset with me for reasons which I suppose are obviously unrelated to me now looking back on it.

She put me on the spot though by refusing to serve me for no apparant reason. All I had done was quietly wait in line then when it was my turn to be served I quickly navigated to the shake & win prize on my phone and showed the barcode for the $4 whopper voucher. She refused to scan the code at first visibly acting like she was confused and so I casually told her: "It's a $4 Whopper Voucher." And for some reason she replied: "No it is not." To which made me confused and anxious but to remove any possible doubt I just showed her the shake & win screen reopening the code so she could see but for some reason she refused to scan it and started making a big deal about it and about me personally. She began ranting on about how Im apparently no better than her and so I asked her why she thought that I thought I was better than her she claimed that it was because I moved my arms when talking to her. She was embarrassing me in front of everyone in the store to which I eventually pointed out to her then asked her why she was calling me out in front of the whole store and without knowing what she is trying to call me out about.

I was confused at that point but ended up being able to put an order in through the app and get charged the...

HJ in the City is a really busy place that sometimes the toilets and the tables upstairs are not being looked after as soon as possible but overall,me and my daughters enjoy eating here every time we have the chance.We prefer the burgers here but I personally dont like the chicken nuggets (don't worry,maybe it's just me😁as my youngest daughter loves them😊)

I came here tonight to rest a litte and charge my phone whilst thinking on ordering something when a young lady approached me to say that the dining area is closed.I wondered as i still see some people inside and she said that they are just finishing eating and theyll cone down soon. She even told me that she will allow me to stay but since im not eating anything then ill have to leave.I wont mind leaving if its necessary hadnt she stood so close to me as in like a security person or police whos making sure ill stand up and leave with the rest of the people there seeing me being singled out so i told her to leave me alone since ill sure be standing anyway and the cctv camera can see it.Makes me wonder as to why the dining area has to be closed at around 7 PM with people still coming and ordering and they even had their children with them.9 pm will be a more reasonable time in my opinion.And the way i was spoken too and singled out is so not on.Whatever happened to your quality of service HJ...
