Ever since I’ve been to Belém in Portugal, I’m on a pastéis de nata hunt back in Australia. So far tried in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, and this one in the Southbank is the best. Crispy and flaky pastry that’s its own entirety. The custard is not overly sweetened, which is what I like about, similar to the Belem tarts and tarts in Macau.

Tried their goat cheese walnut with honey tart, smooth texture of the custard with delicious goat cheese. Slightly savoury 👍 The Nutella one has the traditional egg custard filling. Not overpowered by the Nutella and the hazelnut gives a nice balance of the crunchiness. 😋

The cafe is decorated with red and white stripe cover and interior that’s very lovely, staff are friendly 😊

Edit: went back to buy more the second day (of course) Tried their chicken and herb, which is like a crunchy little pie, such a...

Delicious Pastel de Nata in South Brisbane near Fish Lane. At $11.50 for one custard tart and an iced coffee I thought it was a little steep but the tarts are actually quite large and filling - definitely the largest I’ve ever had and I’ve recently returned from Portugal where I tried many. They also threw in a mini tart for me too which was a lovely surprise. The pastry is lovely and crisp, with a large, very tasty filling - more on the eggy/runny custard side than baked, but it was lovely to eat. I came in at 1pm on a Tuesday and the tart was warm and clearly very fresh. The coffee...

I came here on my lunch break because I had heard such great things about this place. I could not have been more disappointed. I just about spent my lifesavings trying to eat here with $21 for a tiny bacon and egg roll and $4.50 per cookie!!! Certainly not paying for the customer service... The bacon and egg roll was average at best. The cookie was mouldy both on the inside and outside! How revolting! This is an absolute joke of a shop let alone a business. I will never be coming back here after this nightmare and I highly discourage anyone else from buying from this...
