This is the doing of a manager or owner who cares more about money than rostering on enough staff to handle Saturday nights in the McDonalds on Queen St in the Brisbane CBD.
There was hardly any staff on out back to keep up with the rush of customers, they only had 1 lane of the kitchen open when there should be 2 lanes open for this amount of people waiting (and more piling in each minute), there should be dedicated staff rostered on for cleaning the dining room and the McCafè staff member was running between McCafè and the standard kitchen.
There was junk absolutely everywhere, there was spillage on the floor from drinks that had been trodden through and pushed around, the toilets were closed off with a barricade and a stack of plastic crates. The poor staff were over run with orders and running around out back trying to work through them all as quickly as possible whilst still cooking more food. The food that was being prepared was horrendous and there was no care for the placement of the items on the burger as they were rushed.
The chips were stale. The crispy chicken was stale and flavourless. The extra mayo I requested was not provided on the burger, but the mayo I did get was down the side of the bun and in the burger box. There was lettuce hanging out the side of my snack wrap that was folded improperly and therefore didn't fit in the wrapping paper.
If there was adequate staff on to cater for the number of patrons that you KNOW you're going to have, because you have the same amount in every Saturday night, and your computer allocates stock for during purchasing, then I would have had a good meal, your staff wouldn't be so stressed, the kitchen would be open on both sides, there would be a clean dining room, you wouldn't have to close the bathrooms, and McCafè would be open with a staff member in there all the time as it should be.
What's worse is being a local, I know that the photos of the people waiting doesn't even represent a busy time for you, this is actually a quiet volume.
I expect that the manager should work out a better roster and come up with adequate staff resourcing because this is hurrendous and when corporate finds out that this is what your store looks like on a Saturday night, they will not be impressed AT ALL!
Respect your staff and your customers and provide adequate staff coverage! We shouldn't have to wait 15 minutes for food that should be prepared in under 3 minutes when you have...
Read moreAs I reluctantly stepped into the garish, neon-lit realm of McDonald's, I had hoped for a modicum of satisfaction amidst the sea of golden arches. Alas, what awaited me was nothing short of a gastronomic nightmare, a descent into the depths of culinary despair.
Upon approaching the counter, I was greeted by a disinterested employee whose lackluster demeanor mirrored the dismal state of the establishment itself. With a sigh, I placed my order, resigned to the impending disappointment that awaited.
The food, if it can even be dignified with such a label, arrived in a haphazard fashion, as though it had been assembled by a troupe of disoriented chimpanzees. The burger, a sad excuse for sustenance, resembled a flattened slab of rubber adorned with wilted shreds of lettuce and a pallid tomato slice. The once golden fries, now limp and lifeless, seemed to have been dredged from the depths of a forgotten fryer, their stale taste reminiscent of cardboard.
But it was not merely the abysmal quality of the food that soured my experience; it was the pervasive atmosphere of neglect that permeated the entire establishment. The tables, sticky with unidentified substances, bore witness to the countless meals that had been consumed and forgotten within these dismal walls. The floors, slick with grease and grime, threatened to send me tumbling into the abyss with each treacherous step.
And yet, perhaps the most egregious offense of all was the utter disregard for basic hygiene displayed by the staff. With unkempt hair and stained uniforms, they moved about with all the enthusiasm of zombies in a post-apocalyptic wasteland, their indifference to cleanliness a stark testament to the company's disregard for customer satisfaction.
In conclusion, my visit to McDonald's was a harrowing ordeal that I would not wish upon my worst enemy. From the abysmal quality of the food to the deplorable state of the establishment itself, every aspect of the experience served as a poignant reminder of the depths to which fast food culture has sunk. Avoid at all costs, lest you too find yourself ensnared in the clutches of this...
