Today Thursday around 5 on the afternoon, I walked in the restaurant after checking myself in the we page as they ask at the door (with a sign) there weren't any staff there to guide you in or tell you what to do next (Wether to sit and wait for them to take your order or order yourself at the bar) so I walked to the bar and ask the guy there if I should just sit down to which he answered "yes sit and then come back when you know what to order" however he didn't gave me any menu or anything and just went to talk to the next customer. After that I sat on an empty table waiting to see if someone was going to bring me a menu, but nothing. So I looked for the menu online to see what I wanted to order and I went back to the bar to order. I played 44 dollars for a tiny little plate of gnocchi and a mojito. When I saw the price on the online menu I thought it was OK but when I saw the amount of food in that plate I felt sad. After I finish my tiny dinner, and since I was still hungry, I went to the bar again to order some wedges and another drink. The wedges were OK and it's a good amount for a good price. Nevertheless, I couldn't finish so I wanted to ask for them to put it in a take away container. The 2 staff members that were on the restaurant walked by my table at least 4 times, each time I tried to called their attention by raising my hand, calling them, etc. But nothing worked. I end up putting my wedges on a carry on bag that I had in order to take them home. The only explanation I can give to this behaviour from the staff, which having worked in several restaurants before I know does not justify at all the bad service, is that I look pretty young in comparison to what seems to be their regular customers and therefore could be that they didn't take me really seriously. If it wasn't because it was the only place open around and because I just have finished a 6 hours appointment at a nearby salon and I was starving, I would have left the place as soon as the guy on the bar didn't give me any menu. I give them a 1 star review because they have beautiful facilities and because my order came out pretty fast,...
Read moreI’ve always enjoyed coming to pig n whistle, until the 27th of April 2019. I felt very uncomfortable as soon as I walked into your venue due to the looks I got from your waitstaff in the dinning room of your restaurant. I came out to have a nice dinner with my sister and personally didn’t want to sit down in the loud atmosphere outside. I found our night out ended up being a waste of time and money and am now reluctant to come to this restaurant in the future. When we walked in we stood at the door for a while then made our own way to some spare seats as waitstaff had not even battered an eyelid at us. I asked if it was okay that we sat there and it was an effort to serve us. Finally we got table service And made our order I said : Can we grab a • garlic bread • the gnocchi (I then turned to my sister and said ) did you want to ask about the wrap She asked about the wrap and ordered it Then I completed the order with a Yorkshire pudding.
We waited about 5 minutes for the garlic bread. And a further half an hour or so for my sisters meal and the Yorkshire pudding. She had finished her meal and made the decision to ask where my meal was. When she approached staff the staff member ‘BREE’ Made me out to be a liar when we asked where my meal was and said I never ordered it.
We then decided we had waited long enough we didn’t want to wait another half hour or more so we decided to pay and leave.
My recommendations • Please use a ‘wait to be seated sign’ somewhere near the door or the dining area • Then retain your staff members on their customer service skills. (Don’t get me wrong I know some days your just not feeling it but I don’t need to cop attitude because they’re in a bad mood)
I sent this message via email and have not yet heard a response. By the looks of things they don’t have any concern for their customers and it’s extremely...
Read moreWe just arrived back at our hotel after dining here. I usually don't review right away but our experience at this place has compelled me. Firstly, it took a long time to even get anyone's attention when we got there to ask if we could dine with children (the atmosphere wasn't the most child friendly). They confirmed, yes but then walked away and didn't seat us or offer us a table. Once we'd ambiguously wandered through and found somewhere to sit, again we were left sat waiting and no one came to serve us. We eventually scanned the QR code on the table and started an order that way. That was frought with troubles though as we couldn't modify any of the meals to remove ingredients and there weren't any kids meals available on the app. Finally got sorted and ordered. The food arrived slowly with one person in our party (4 adults, 4 kids) receiving their food just as everyone was finishing. The meat and seafood was over cooked. The burgers were bland and the ribs were very fatty. They charge a $3 surcharge to make a burger vegan yet they remove the cheese, the chicken and the sauces!! The final straw, that bothered me the most is there was next to no human contact at all, no wait staff took our order, no staff enquired about our meal, no one to be seen to ask for cutlery or water jugs or extra drinks. It's a very diy situation. I don't know if this is the standard here in brisbane as we've just arrived but I really hope not cause its extremely disappointing. Also need to add that the food here is $$$$ and if it wasn't already clear from my review the atmosphere is terrible, unfriendly, unwelcoming and not really suited to children. Really...
