**Update 1st of all, thank you for replying my review The inv # is 26978, Cashier: Andrew, Date: 10/7/21, Time: 3:44:07 Total amount $30 but surcharged 66c due to paid by the card. This is another thing I wasn't happy either. I know some places do charge extra if paying by card, but is it worth transferring bank fee to customers regardless a small amount. I think the main argument is your staff don't speak English, two you can't force a customer to use smart phone only to order! Terrible customer service! Overpricing! Taste like instant noodles! Not customer friendely at all!
I was forced to use QR code to order, no other options, regardless there were a number of staff mucking around the counter. I just wanted food, but the process of online ordering was longer than eating. Asked the staff whether I can order at the counter as I prefer that way, but was told the counter was only for take away. Why treating clients separately?
I told the staff that if I were blind, didn't have a smart phone, didn't read, can I order at the counter? She looked at me, pointing the finger at the QR code and repeated like a robort, 'SCAN THE CODE', so rude and arrogant!!
I wondered whether she understood what I was talking about.
With the help of my mate, I finally ordered during the time the order disappeared so had to do again, if she wasn't there I'd definitely leave without hesitation.
The fancy but useless menu just made simple noodles complicated. $15 for the ramen, yes just noodles, with 2-3 as thin as paper processed meat. Very salty, soup might have added MSG
Don't visit this place, as you can buy instant noodles, adding luxurious ingredients under $10 but receiving...

The location is really conveniently placed opposite the convention centre. It is up a few stairs for those not so mobile.
The shop itself is small. It was a busy night so there were people waiting all around outside. Some more seating out there would be great, but we made do with the stairs.
There was a 15-25 minute wait for food because it was so busy. The little restaurant was full and we opted for takeaway.
We got the Tantanmen to enjoy after being told it was only a little spicy. I have Gastritis so I can't have too much spice, otherwise it pains me for quite a while afterwards. This was ok.
I wasn't expecting the heat of it to intensify the more I ate. By the end of my meal, my lips were burning from the spiciness. It wasn't the mildness I was expecting, but it did help warm us up and was very delicious.
We didn't have the option to customize our meal either. Probably because of the type or how busy it was.
One of the servers was kind enough to come out to give us our takeaway. It was greatly appreciated after being on our feet all day 👍
The meal itself was really good. The base ingredients came in one bowl and our broth came in another. It was really convenient for takeaway, and even included chopsticks and cardboard soup spoons for easier eating.
The meat inside was finely ground and mixed in well. I really loved the large Bok Choy inside.
It was a really good meal and very generous. I'd be glad to try more of the...

For those who have not been to a restaurant where you fully customize your food, the ordering process may be a bit daunting at first.
Orders are placed at the counter before you get to sit down at a table. When you get to the counter, you will see a menu that show a step-by-step ordering options. You will then be bombarded with a string of questions regarding you order such as - which base option would you like to start with, how firm would you like your noodles to be, how rich would you like your soup to be, how spicy do you want your ramen to be, what sort of toppings do you want and etc.
Some might find this process tedious. "All I want is a bowl of ramen, i don't want to have to sit through an exam to get one!", I hear you say. If this is you then this restaurant is not for you. For those who don't mind the ordering process, you will be rewarded with a perfect bowl of ramen specifically made for you.
As this is a very popular restaurant, there is usually a line of people waiting to get in. I would highly recommend you to grab a copy of the menu from the counter before joining the line and start planning your order while you wait.
The restaurant itself is quite small and is not suitable for large groups of people. It is also not a place where you would sit down and have a 2 hour conversation with a friend at. People who are waiting to get into the restaurant might get a bit upset if you don't leave soon after you...
