I’ve been a regular customer at this bubble tea store because the drinks are consistently great and the service has usually been solid—until today. Unfortunately, I had a really disappointing experience that I feel needs to shout out. There were two staff members working this evening. The taller one with black glasses was extremely unprofessional. When I approached the counter, she didn’t greet me or even ask what I’d like to order—she just stared at me in complete silence. I had to initiate the conversation, which already felt awkward. If she was busy, a simple “please give me a moment” would have been perfectly fine. After placing my order, she didn’t provide a receipt, a number, or even say anything—just turned away. Meanwhile, I noticed the shorter staff member was actively helping other customers, offering receipts after placing orders. While waiting, customers who ordered after me (and were helped by the other staff) received their drinks before I did. Eventually, the taller staff member began calling out “number 5” in an irritated tone, and I suspected it might be mine. Since I was never given a number or receipt, I had no way of knowing. When I approached her, she looked at me like I was at fault, and I had to explain that I hadn’t been given anything or told what to expect. I waited 22 minutes for my drink, and during all that time, no one updated me or offered an explanation. The store wasn’t even busy when I ordered, so a heads-up about the wait time would’ve been appreciated. I really hope the owner looks into this, because I love the drinks here and want to continue coming back. But today’s experience left a very bad impression. I’d hate to stop visiting just because of one staff member’s...

Hojicha milk tea here is really good, the hojicha milk foam is also good if you prefer that. Haven’t tried the latte version (w fresh milk) but will give it a shot. Goes well w grass jelly and pearls. Pearls here are on the chewier side for those with that preference. 2 toppings for $1 is such a good price as well.

I’m inclined to think based off their hojicha milk tea that they do their milk teas here very well. Flavour of the tea is great and on the stronger side which marries well w whatever milk choice you go with. Will definitely try the other flavours too but I just really like their hojicha. Overall really good milk teas here- taste like Taiwan milk teas (ie more like Wushiland flavours rather than Heeretea) so really glad to have this near the inner city area. Sizing is generous and well priced.

Also tried the grapefruit green tea as grapefruit tea is my usual fav but it was a bit bland to me personally. Will try their other fruit teas tho like the lychee oolong or watermelon black tea before reaching a verdict on the...

My wife and I have bought bubble tea here several times, and we both agree Teaology Lab is one of the best spots in Brisbane.

Sleek modern interior, friendly staff, and a slightly different menu to other bubble tea stores on the South side (who just seem to copy each other's menu).

We've tried their Early Grey, Hojicha, and Oolong teas, with and without milk foam, both options were great. Often at other stores, the bubble tea taste more like milk with no tea.

Have also tried their fruit teas and cold brew matcha, all of which were amazing.

Generous amount of toppings too!

We've also noticed their cups are of better quality than the cheap plastic from the big franchises - not sure what's the material or finish (matte)?

The only thing to point out for anyone visiting Teaology for the first time is best to go with half (50%) or light (30%) sugar. Once you've understood their sweetness levels, you'll be able to pick your perfect drink on the...

Absolutely love this place! Hands down one of the best bubble tea spots I’ve ever been to. The drinks are consistently delicious, and you can really tell they use quality ingredients. I ordered the watermelon coconut frappe, and it was perfectly balanced—not too sweet, super refreshing, and the strawberry popping pearls were perfect. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, especially Emma Nguyen, and the service is quick even when they’re busy. Emma Nguyen specially makes drinks using her own personal touch and it elevates the whole experience. The shop itself is super clean and has a cozy, modern vibe—great for catching up with friends or just relaxing with a good drink. They also have a ton of options for customization, including non-dairy milks and sugar level, which I really appreciate. I’ve been here multiple times now and it never disappoints. Highly recommend if you’re a bubble tea lover—or even if you’re trying it for the first time!

It would be great to have an indicator of how sweet the base drink is. I often order my drinks with little or no sugar, but it's an affront to the senses when the drink I paid $7.50 for is too sweet for me to drink when I order it with no sugar. The Taro tea is made with taro that appears to be in syrup, which is alright, but it's finished off with the super sweet taro creamer stuff, which took it over my tolerance level. I drank it out of guilt that I seem to manage to unwittingly choose drinks that are very sweet before adding additional sugar. Last time this happened at a different shop, I did request a different drink, but the look the lady gave me was like I had insulted her personally, and I didn't feel like going through that today. TL;DR: it would be great if bubble tea shops indicated the base level of sweetness in their drinks. It has been a very unpleasant surprise way too many times.
