Casablanca Gold Coast — Restaurant in Gold Coast City

Security guards are completely in over their heads. I had no serious run ins with them personally but I saw the way they treated other patrons. They act like the club is Berghain or something when it’s just another completely average club on the Gold Coast. I hadn’t signed in yet at the door because I was trying to show my vaccine certificate and when I was asked for it and quickly did it the security guard was like “aww you’re lucky man your lucky” as if I had just saved myself getting beaten up. Then when trying to leave the club they just stand in the door and ignore you when you try to get past. Not to mention a poor girl tripped on the dancefloor and was leapt upon and dragged out by the security guards before she could even get up. Saw countless other incidents throughout the night with security guards thinking they are guarding the gates of heaven, being rude and aggressive for no reason to one of the most orderly club crowds I’ve ever seen. I normally don’t care what security guards are doing but guys this isn’t Berlin or Ibiza, get over yourself. I attended this nightclub with 5 friends on Saturday. The bar staff and other workers were friendly and kind. My rating is reflective of the treatment from the security guards. My partner was ushered away from the cameras by 3 male security guards into a blind spot from the council cameras. My boyfriend was then physically assaulted by 3 male security guards and the evidence has been masked through the security team coincidently pushing him into a blind corner from cameras. My boyfriend did not touch a single security member however was punched repeatedly by these males for no reason. I myself am now in a sling after being restrained by the female security guard with an unnecessary means of EXCESSIVE force. My boyfriend has a black eye and blurred vision. Another friend was choked unconscious (in another blind spot from cameras) & 2 other friends were thrown to the concrete. This assault did not happen at the entry of Casablanca but unfortunately on the other side of the road in which we were followed. I would like to remind you that my review reflects on the security team. If anyone has any footage from this then please come forward as this needs to be escalated...

On holiday for a conference for skin cancer medicine. GP with 4 children but travelling solo for weekend conference. You're intoxicated I was told by the security guy when going to enter, you cant enter. Id had 3 beers over 2 hours. Is it what I'm wearing? I asked, no you are intoxicated. What?? Another bouncer came up and asked me to move on. So went to Platinum which was great. Returned after an hour, no I was told you have been refused before. Honestly I'm a pacificist, no criminal record I'm a nerd not violent or threatening. No move on. So moved on, now it was becoming like the forbidden fruit so I went back another hour later. Sorry you can come back tomorrow we are closing anyway in 20 mins, this was at 1am but the close time is ? 3am. Maybe they only want super young groovers. After I was rejected a group of young 20 year olds were let in.
