My husband and I decided to have a special Valentine's Day dinner at Figo Italiano tonight as our last night on our babymoon. Despite the occasion and a relatively low number of customers, our experience turned out to be quite disappointing.
Upon arriving at 7pm, we promptly placed our orders by 7:10pm. We chose the lasagna, warm olives, potatoes, and baked gnocchi from the menu. However, when the food was brought to our table, I immediately noticed that the dish labeled as "baked gnocchi" was actually gnocchi four cheese. As an Italian myself, I could easily recognize the difference. When I pointed this out to our waitress, she insisted that it was indeed baked gnocchi and walked away without addressing the issue. I found this lack of attention to detail concerning.
To my surprise, another waitress approached us, apologized for the mix-up, and took the plates away. However, instead of discarding the dish that my fork had touched, they served it to another table. This disregard for basic health standards left me quite uneasy.
After this incident, a new round of mains was brought out, but once again, the waitress attempted to serve us gnocchi four cheese instead of the baked gnocchi we had ordered. I had to clarify our order for the second time, emphasizing that we wanted the lasagna and baked gnocchi. Sadly, by the time our correct dishes arrived, it had been well over an hour since we placed our order.
When it came to the quality of the food, it was mediocre at best. My husband's lasagna portion was disappointingly small and had an unpleasant metallic taste. As for my baked gnocchi, it lacked seasoning entirely. Italian cuisine is known for its simplicity and delicious flavors, but unfortunately, this experience fell far short of that standard.
Adding to the frustration, we had to request table water, as there was no option for tap water. It was disappointing to discover that the restaurant charges for something as basic as water, especially since it was dispensed from a special tap. This lack of consideration for customers' preferences was disheartening.
To make matters worse, the table next to us also received incorrect food. In all my dining experiences, I have never encountered such poor service and organizational issues. It was disheartening and frustrating to have such a negative experience on what should have been a special evening.
I left the establishment before my husband paid, feeling deeply disappointed and frustrated. I am heavily pregnant who had been looking forward to a pleasant Valentine's/Babymoon dinner, but instead, I had to walk out without even voicing my concerns to the staff. It is unfortunate that my husband was not inclined to speak up either, as the situation had already left me quite upset.
Don’t gnocch it or Figo Italiano don’t bother replying because you’ve already pissed off a heavily pregnant woman, I had to walk out as my husband paid and no he wouldn’t have said anything so don’t use that clap back like you have on other reviews!
In conclusion, I cannot recommend this restaurant based on the subpar service, incorrect orders, mediocre food, and the lack of attention to basic customer needs. It is my hope that they take these criticisms seriously and work towards improving their overall...
Read moreA group of us attended this establishment on Monday evening, 18th of March, and ended up leaving before our mains arrived. We arrived at around 6pm, and were seated outside, at our request. Menus were brought to us, as was water for the table, although with not enough glasses. We had to flag staff down to attempt to order, to which the young lady had to go and get writing implements to take the order, and she didn't return. We were then approached by another waitress who told us all about the alcohol, including shots available, when we asked to order. Her energy was off and seemed either substance effected or just way too keen about her job for a slow Monday dinner service. She made our group quite uncomfortable. We ordered entrees, 1 glass of wine (there was 4 out of the 5 of us not drinking alcohol, this matters for later in the review) and that was that. The first waitress came back to tell us the Arancini wasn't available which is fine, not mad about it. 20mins later our entrees of foccacia, warm olives and prosciutto arrived. 2 serves of foccacia but only 1 serve of balsamic and EVOO were present, with the overly familiar waitress stating "we chucked the 2 on the one plate for ya" Foccacia was dense and very doughy and for $11 I'd expect better quality. We waited 40 more minutes, with no mains in sight. No one approached us since the entrees were served. No plates cleared, no checking to see if we wanted to order drinks, nothing. Our group was fairly hungry and a bit over it by this point, approx. 7:20pm. We flagged down the confused waitress and asked her about our mains, she assured us she would go check with the kitchen and let us know. She returned inside the establishment and spoke with the ill-vibed waitress and didn't go into the kitchen at all. We, obviously, were not happy about this, so we decided we'd pay for our entrees and leave. We went inside to inform the staff of our plans to leave and the waitress said "oh no, I was going to bring out a round of shots for the table to help make you happy" um babes, 80% of our group wasn't drinking so what makes you think alcohol is going to fix this situation? Uber fake empathy and apologies were seen from the staff as we paid and then we left. Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Save your coin and...
Read moreMy friend and I had booked this restaurant through FirstTable and were looking forward to a girls night out for dinner. We arrived at 6pm for our 50% off reservation. We were rushed to order our drinks and then our food. The drinks were lovely. The burratta entree was okay, but came with no bread, so we had to pay extra in order to eat it with some substance. It was an okay entree but not enough flavour. My main of the blue-swimmer crab linguine was fantastic but my friends gnocchi was a baked meal so it was very dry with no pasta sauce. We finished our meals at about 6:45 and the waiter came over to offer us a dessert menu, we denied. His colleague came back 5 minutes later with the bill and another 5 minutes later with an eftpos machine. We paid for our meal and then sat talking while finishing our drinks. 5 minutes later at 7pm the waiter passed by our table to say "just advising that your table is booked soon" with a sorry expression. I looked around the restaurant and saw 3 empty tables for 2 people. We sat and finished our drink and then felt like we had to leave. I did not realise there is a 1 hour limit on tables or that you would be treated less for booking through a promotion app... that the company has signed up to be apart of. If you stop spending money they will make you leave, even if you have a reservation. We went to another restaurant and sat and had drinks and were not rushed out at any stage. Really dampened the whole experience for us. I don't think we'd return.
Edit: Thank you for your prompt response. Unfortunately there is no understanding from my end in terms of why we were felt made to leave after being at a table for 1 hour. As I mentioned, there were 3 other empty tables with no reservation signs on them and we were still asked to leave. From reading your other responses to negative reviews, you seem to always try to make the customer seem wrong and don't take ownership or responsibility for mistakes....
