Fixx Cafe and Lounge — Restaurant in Gold Coast City

Pretty good quality coffees, but below-average service.

Their iced mocha was a perfect balance between sweet chocolate and bitter coffee. The matcha is very watery and bland, however. Be sure to add some kind of sweetener or syrup if you’d like order an iced matcha here, unless you like the taste of milk (which is totally fine if that’s the case).

I found the service a little bit dry, and the staff could definitely put more effort into being a bit nicer - since most of their customers are paying guests, and they don’t get nearly as busy as a regular cafe that’s not nestled within a 5-star hotel.

Their trading hours are also a smidge odd considering hotel lobbies are open for much longer, and QT check-in times can go all the way up to 3:00 p.m., so even being open til 5:00 or 6:00 might be convenient for their guests. But I do understand it’s a café, and this would be considered irregular for any others in the surrounding area.

We decided to visit this coffee shop after reading the positive reviews, but this morning (around 10 AM on December 24, 2024), based on my experience, I was deeply disappointed with the breakfast service. While the waitress at the cash register was polite and welcoming, another waitress completely ruined the experience. When I asked her about a vacant table, she didn’t bother to assist or even acknowledge us. Instead, she ignored us entirely and showed no interest in helping. Her lack of professionalism and disregard for basic customer service made my husband and me feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. This kind of behavior is unacceptable and left us with a very negative impression of the establishment.

On top of that, the food and drinks were below standard. The pancake I ordered was burnt, and the cappuccino was served cold. I would not recommend this place to anyone looking for a pleasant...

We celebrated a 70th Birthday at Fixx. We had the standard high tea with bottomless mimosa. I arrived early to put balloons and flowers on the table. Our waitress was amazing and placed them on the table for us. The table setup was elegant and perfect. Whilst waiting 3 of us had a drink. She recommended an ice tea to my autistic 14yo son and spoke to him with such respect and understanding. When the rest of the party arrived, including the birthday girl she was their in flash and explained everything perfectly. The chefs came out with the food and explained the dishes. It is a lovely touch and both should applauded for how they interacted with us. The food looked elegant and tasted sublime.
