Deserves NO STARS but Google won't allow 0 as a rating.
I'm only taking the time to write a review to warn others not to waste their money here and to find an alternate place to eat sushi.
We visit numerous other sushi trains and sushi edo locations throughout Brisbane and Gold Coast, this place is by far the WORST for customer service and food quality.
No greeting upon entering or leaving.
Despite only 4 other customers in the restaurant at the time, we were ignored and not served for at least 5 minutes after finding our own seat and sitting patiently to order tea and drinks and a few plates that we couldn't see on the train. Mind you there was harldy any selectionon the train.
While waiting, I took a plate of spring rolls from the conveyor. Not my ultimate sushi choice but hungry. Took a bite. Stone cold, I set them down and didn't know what to do with them. As we were finally served and ordered 4 sushi dishes, I asked for some hot spring rolls. The lady agreed and sent them to the kitchen.
The standard sushi rolls were just terrible. Salmon was NOT fresh, didn't eat it. Plate remained full. All rolls were dry and flavorless, stale and appeared to have been sitting on the conveyor for too long. It was 3.30pm on a Thursday.
Two of our plates arrived and then my spring rolls that I had said were stone cold.
I was horrified when I bit into a spring roll and dropped it. The same rolls that I had passed back to the kitchen had been zapped in the microwave and returned to me and they were now tough chewy hot rubber. Didn't eat a second bite.
All up we ate about 5% of the food on our plates. Some didn't even arrive to our table.
My son and I were starving and disappointed.
We had visited this exact location many times approximately 3 years ago and they were fabulous. Spending anywhere between $40-55 (and more with an extra adult some visits).
On average we eat sushi once a fortnight at sushi edo where prices are lower but we still spend around $40 per visit with the amount we eat.
I paid $17.50 only to walk out starving and head over to Peters fish market for fish and chips to feed my son and I.
I mentioned to the lady while standing at the counter to pay. Those spring rolls are terrible and they shouldn't have been reheated in a microwave. She replied "spring rolls terrible ahh" I said nothing was still charged and walked out vowing never to step foot there again.
Shockingly bad food...you have to see it to understand. Anyone who likes good fresh sushi that tastes like what it's ingredients are...should steer clear and go somewhere else.
Customer service....oh boy what can I say.
If you don't believe my review...go have a look...
Read moreMy visit was for Lunch after a visit to Seaworld, we had been sitting in our apartment googling lunch ideas when this location popped up with glowing reviews.
The reviews are true it seems as the service was second to none, the moment you walk in you're yelled at with what I can only assume is a Japanese welcome of sorts, you soon get used to this event as it's repeated with each new diner.
You need only take a seat and wait for the train to bring you something that catches your fancy, pricing is a simple colour system allowing one to quickly and easily keep tabs on their total spend, want a warm/hot item made fresh just give a quick shout out and it's done, the Chef hands it personally to you, again, more Japanese that sounds very friendly but I have no idea what it means.
Visit this restaurant, it's a great experience, the food is an absolute core focus and the decor is Anime...
Read moreDining in with our kids who usually love sushi train (we were visiting from interstate). Service was non-existent, not even a greeting as we entered. Very limited food on the train, only a handful of items (lots of gaps in the train). Used the QR code on the table to order as instructed, after waiting close to 20 mins asked waitress if she knew it order would be much longer, to which she said she suggested we ask the chef/cook instead. Waited another 5-10 mins before asking the Chef as he walked past the table to which he said their ordering system wasn’t working. Thought this information may have been useful 30 mins ago when we walked in. Ironically, another QR code on the table to leave feedback displays a message saying this survey is now closed!
If I could give zero stars I would. A real disappointment. Certainly better options in surfers and surrounding areas. Try...
