Sapa Rose — Restaurant in Hobart

Please avoid this restaurant at all costs. This place has the worst service I have ever experienced. And they were not busy during this service period as I noticed no more than 30 diners in the restaurant at any one time. I booked 24 hours in advance over the telephone. However the booking was not recorded in the bookings book. However a table was quickly made and we were seated promptly. Our food orders were quickly taken and 50 minutes later we are still waiting for food in this time no water or drink service was offered. After 50 minutes I complained to management and received just a sorry from junior wait staff. Food arrived after a 1.5 hour wait and was delivered one dish at a time over the next 30 mins. They offered us a free drink when we reached the 2 hour mark lol. About time drink service was offered. However food is usually quite good but I will not be returning as they clearly have no idea of customer service Thanks for completely ruining our staff Christmas party, this was an absolute first to leave a restaurant hungry and without getting a drink. I can't speak highly enough of Sapa Rose. My husband and I enjoyed the most wonderful dinner there tonight with our dear friends who told us this will change our lives. I didn't disappoint. Everything was spectacular. We have decided to go and work our way through that extensive, delicious and honest menu for however long it takes. Wait staff were waiting for us. Kitchen was prompt. Such homely friendly service without being too much. I can't wait to go back and enjoy not just the incredible food, but the warm hospitality. These guys are gold. Visited on a Tuesday night and it was relatively busy. We didn’t have a booking and found them accomodating us and welcoming our group of 4. Service was sometimes a little slow or not as attentive but it was delicious. The food was a fusion of Vietnamese and Chinese but nevertheless, super delicious and belly filling goodness.

We have the combination pho - tasty soup base, beef coconut with steamed rice, vermicelli salad - someone even said “best salad ever”, the sauce and flavour was perfect. Combination crispy noodles, also very delicious. The size portions were huge and very filling.
