Himalayan Hub in Launceston offers a unique dining experience with its authentic Himalayan cuisine. Recently, my family and I, a group of 12, visited the restaurant for dinner. The evening started on a high note with an array of dishes that showcased the restaurant's diverse menu.
We began with the Chicken Steam Momo and Chicken Jhol Momo. The steam momos were flavorful with tender chicken filling, while the Jhol momos, though intriguing, fell a bit short of our expectations, we also ordered Chicken Biryani, Goat Curry, Paneer Curry, Mixed Vegetable Curry, and Naan. The Chicken Biryani was aromatic and satisfying, capturing the essence of traditional flavors. The Paneer Curry and Mixed Vegetable Curry were both delightful, offering rich and well-balanced tastes that complemented the naan perfectly.
However, the Goat Curry did not quite meet our expectations. The flavors were somewhat underwhelming, lacking the depth we anticipated. Additionally, the Chicken Jhol Momo, while interesting, didn't have the impact we were hoping for. Despite these minor disappointments, the overall dining experience was elevated by the exceptional service provided by the staff. They were attentive, friendly, and accommodating, which made our large group feel well-cared-for throughout the evening.
Will give a second try...
Read moreOur group recently visited Himalayan Hub Nepali Restaurant, and it was a truly enjoyable experience. From the moment we entered, the vibes were unmistakably Nepali—warm, vibrant, and nostalgic. The atmosphere was lovely, with traditional Nepali songs playing in the background, creating the perfect setting for a delightful meal.
The food was absolutely wonderful! Most of the menu items we tried were flavorful and authentic, reminding us of the rich culinary heritage of Nepal. The restaurant is spacious, making it a comfortable spot for larger groups like ours, and the friendly staff added to the welcoming experience.
The only thing I believe could improve is the speed of service—it felt a little slow at times, especially with a group. However, the amazing food and ambiance more than made up for it.
Overall, we had a fantastic time at Himalayan Hub. The food, the vibes, and the hospitality were great, and we’ll definitely be back for another memorable dining experience. Highly recommend it for anyone craving authentic...
Read moreOne of the worst takeaway experiences I've had in Launceston. Found the Vegetable Madras to be quite yucky - it had absolutely no flavour except of sweet coconut cream. Did not resemble a madras. It was described on Uber Eats as having "hot chillies" but there was not a hint of heat or flavour to be found. I felt so ripped off that I called up to complain. It was like trying to eat a sweet creamy desert with frozen vegetables in it. They argued with me and said that "spicy meant it contained spices". I argued that the description said 'hot chillies' which implies a spicy vegetable which was nowhere to be seen. They said they couldn't make it spicy or else customers complain. I complained that they can't advertise one thing and produce another or else it's misleading. They sent a second delivery driver out with a replacement which was equally as disgusting but had some chilli powder added to it. The paratha was like dry cardboard. The bhaji were soggy. Spent $66 and felt like I was robbed in...
