Been here a few times. Once for drinks, twice for food.
Let’s start with the atmosphere, culture and philosophy of the place. It’s a very, very comfortable room with warm, dimmed lighting that’s easy on the eyes. Slightly annoying for taking food photos, so make sure to hold your camera still.
Tres recommends that you order food to share with the table. Take that recommendation seriously. There’s lots of amazing things to try here, and sharing food with your party adds a sense of closeness and promotes good discussion about the amazing food here.
The team are all lovely, fun, passionate and welcoming people who made me feel like family. I’ve felt extremely comfortable and welcome every time I’ve come here. Sam, Stacy and the team appreciate your business and they make it clear with their interactions.
Every drink I have had there is the best version of that drink. Mojitos, Sangrias, House made fruit punch, Lemon, Lime & Bitters… it’s all incredible.
Food wise it’s hard to argue that the fried chicken wings aren’t some of the best fried chicken wings I’ve ever had. Super crispy, incredible seasoning, amazing dipping sauce. BBQ fish was amazing, the garnishes really complimented the fish itself. Don’t get me started on the paprika potatoes, empanadas, manchego corn, Brazilian cheese bread or cassava fries either. I could gorge on all of these for the rest of my life.
The flat iron steak was some of the best beef I’ve ever eaten. Fresh, tender, flavourful and cooked perfectly medium rare, I couldn’t recommend it more.

Read moreWe arrived at approximately 12:05 PM on Saturday, with two tables in front of us. We ordered drinks, starters, and mains:
Chicharrón + Croquettes Steak + Chicken The drinks were straightforward and arrived within five minutes of ordering.
The Chicharrón arrived after 20 minutes, and the croquettes followed 15 minutes later. Considering these are pre-prepared items that only needed plating (Chicharrón) and three minutes in the deep fryer (croquettes), the delay was baffling. Additionally, the croquettes were already done and sitting at the pass for no apparent reason.
Flavour-wise, the croquettes needed more work as the inside was "gummy" and stodgy. The steak and chicken were both pre-cooked sous vide and only required heating, charring, and plating. Unfortunately, the sous chef timed it poorly, resulting in the steak arriving with cold edges and a barely warm center. It was also tough and sinewy. The sauce on top of the steak was delicious, but the steak itself was disappointing. The consolation was the chicken, which arrived piping hot.
I reflected all this to the manager, but her response was barely warm, like the steak. We finished our food not because it was delicious, but because I hate wasting food and we were hungry.
Overall, service-wise, they were excellent. However, it seems the kitchen and servers need a lot more communication. Overall, it was underwhelming, and I'm unlikely to return soon. Maybe after a few months, once they've ironed out their kinks and stocked their menu items properly, as the two items I really wanted to have, fish and octopus, were...
Read moreWhat a great find in Launceston! We were back early from Cradle mountain due to weather and this was the pick me up I needed. Delicious food, superb cocktails and amazing service and company! We were greeted at the door by this cheerful lady Sharon who also gave us recommendations on the food (try their specials) and drinks. The food is superb. The lamb skewers are definitely a favourite with a lovely flavour and their kiwi based chimichurri sauce (sounded weird at first), worked so well with it. The fried pork balls of goodness (can’t remember the proper name) was a rival to it. The octopus dish and even the white asparagus dish was delicious. The main fish dish was awesome, soft, with good flavours. Happy hour is from 9-10 on Friday and Saturday which is convenient if you prefer liquid desserts. The cocktails are top notch and not too sweet (a huge win in my books) so you can actually taste the other flavours! Al makes a mean margarita! The restaurant is spacious (still probably wise to book) and nicely decorated with a very friendly feel. We met the owners and rest of the regular staff who were a blast. I would definitely come back if I were visiting Launceston again and recommending this to...
