Visited Beachcomber yesterday. Trying to get the best out of what sunny days Melbourne gets. We got the table we wanted just on the sandy beach looking towards the ocean. Ordered through QR code. Ordered one beer one hot chocolate and southern style burger with Chip. You cant really mess up a beer and hot chocolate which was good atleast the drinks were. The burger arrived, mind you paying $30 for a smiple chicken burger with slaw and chips wouldnt be considered steep if it was actually tasteful. Chips soggy, like when if been left out and then thrown back into a fryer to warm up and serve. We asked the waitress for some Tabasco sauce, we got back a rude reply," no it only comes with one sauce". Yes we can see that it come with one sauce, we arent asking for free stuff obviously we will pay for a small sauce. Took a bit of the chips and was not impressed, how do you mess up chips. Sent it back to the kitchen to get fresher chips and also some Tabasco sauce, got told yes it will be out soon. Got new chips, well it seemed and tasted excalty like what was sent back with some good ones atleast this time.with tomato sauce again and no Tabasco. By this time we just gave up on even a sauce. With so many seagulls around obviously being a beach. We asked the waitress just to take the old chips plate away so the seagulls wont be hovering around. She picks up both the plates new and old one while we were still eating the new chips. We said, please leave the new bowl and take the old one, she drops both of them down on the table and huffs off saying I'll do it later. Is this the customer service you provide. It is basic customer service. Remember this is not for free, people pay money for the service, i dont owe you anything apart from being a decent person, if you have a restaurant, you are getting paid by customers for service and food, you are not providing it for free. No one is afraid to pay money for good food and service, when you charge money atleast deliver it to that expectation. Only thing that brings people to you is the fact of your location currently. Food is standard and your service is even...

HAD TO WRESTLE with writing a bad review but after todays experience this place diserve it and you deserve to be warned .Disappointing is an understatement There should be a law against people running a restaurant with zero care for the customer or clue about food yet very happy to charge top doller for it . 4out of 5 meals not fit to eat (can’t go to wrong with calamari ) but we tried Our best Don’t get the lamb shank not fit for a dog to eat The salmon dry and microwaved The burger and chips bun stale burger microwaved like everything else and the chips like sticks all served cold Just like the host and the service (and the beer ) Don’t get me started on the oysters put it this way after forcing 6 down we left the other 6 along with most of the meals It was my sons birthday brings out a cake with only 4 candles not 23 that were provided and dumps on the table with a lighter for us to try and light in the wind Just zero care as to how you bring out a cake forget the happy birthday or the element of surprise No clue Went in at 9am to book the table I requested for 1pm get there on time only to see it gone to others , we get shoved behind the plastic exactly we’re I said I didn’t want to happen . We came for the view !! The host couldn’t care a less, was not happy with me not happy like how dare I be upset !! Then when they set us a table as an after thought outside it was on the corner in the wind they did not give a S……… we shifted ourselves up after tables cleared out 40 minutes later . Worst dining experience ever $300 dollers later only one alcahol drink included in that it was not for it being my son’s birthday I would have demanded a refund . Absolutely appalling so ripped off will never go. BAck so sad such a gorgous spot is ran by people with zero passion for the food and customer service . Shameful Absolute highway Robery host didn’t dare ask how things were just to happy to take our money . Lift your game it’s inexcusable They will survive on unsuspecting tourists or locals like us …. But Repeat...

An Absolute Disgrace to the Hospitality Industry

If I could give zero stars, I would. My experience at Beachcoma Cafe and Bar was nothing short of appalling. The staff were not only rude but treated my family with outright disrespect in a way that is completely unacceptable for any establishment, let alone one that claims to be part of the hospitality industry.

Upon entering the café section—just metres away from the takeaway counter—I was abruptly and rudely told that I couldn’t bring my food inside. This was despite the fact that it was from the same restaurant, purchased moments earlier. Instead of a polite explanation, I was met with unnecessary attitude and hostility.

That alone was ridiculous, but what happened next was even worse. While my in-laws—accompanied by an elderly grandmother—waited for their daughter to pay the bill, they began gathering their things to leave. They had already asked to pay five to ten minutes prior, and their daughter was literally doing so at that exact moment. Yet as soon as they started moving, a staff member shouted at them in a completely inappropriate and accusatory tone, as if they were attempting to leave without paying. This was not only embarrassing but downright insulting.

Even after they calmly pointed to their daughter—who was standing at the counter paying—the staff still responded with an unacceptable attitude. The way they were treated was disgraceful, as if they were some kind of criminals. To speak to any paying customer in that manner is outrageous, but to treat elderly patrons and their family in such a way is absolutely shameful.

This place clearly has no understanding of hospitality, respect, or even basic human decency. Combine that with their absurd rules and a staff that acts like they are doing customers a favor just by existing, and you have a venue that deserves to be avoided at all costs.

Do yourself a favor and go somewhere that actually knows how to treat people with kindness and respect—because you won’t...

Came out for dinner as a family for my daughter's birthday 🎂 🥳. The atmosphere was buzzing. The weather was still sunny at 6:30pm and we timed it beautifully so we could see the sunset. It's right on the beach and the view is incredible. It's great for families, couples, groups or even on your own. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. Myself and my husband had a variety of starters and share plates instead of mains. We started with the antipasto which consisted of marinated olives, artichokes, dolmades, borettane balsamic onions, seasonal fruit, fruit jam, mortadella, wagu bresaola and mild Calabrese salami, smoked cheese, brie&blue cheese served with bread and crackers. Small serves 2 to 3 people or if you want it has 4 to 6 people. Next came the trio of dips, tarama, tzatzilki, eggplant with pita bread. Also the pumpkin fritters, char grilled octopus on potato vellutata, grilled prawn skewers, seafood tigani which consisted of mussels, prawns, calamari, scallops, diced fish garlic chilli napoli, served in a pan with pita bread. When I go out for dinner that's what I enjoy doing, trying the various options a restaurant offers. Beachcomber Cafe and beach bar didn't disappoint. From their starters to their mains, from their drinks to their desserts. My children had an open chicken souvlaki plate that came with grilled chicken skewers served with pita bread, tzatziki and Greek salad. Another one had the Atlantic Salmon with potato disks, capers, gerkins and mixed herbs, lobster and brandy bisque. And the other two had the spaghetti marinara that came with mussels, prawns, scallops, calamari cooked in garlic and a hint of napoli sauce. As you can see this restaurant has a variety of dishes and plenty of desserts. There's even pizza, pasta and risotto. Wow. From the moment I arrived the staff were friendly and welcoming. The last time I was here was 2 years ago and I'm glad I came again. Thank you for a great night.

Look, being next to the beach is beautiful - it’s a vibe. It’s just that honestly this place is pretty overpriced. Like chill, you’re not some fine dining place to be raising your prices so high for some of the items on the menu… and I know it’s not fine dining if they let a lady dine in the restaurant with her bum cheeks naked on display (g string bikini) and not clothed. If that’s what is going to happen then make it more casual with your prices too, considering the experience isn’t fancy. The chicken skewers my sister got were soooooo dry, something funny is that the meze sharing plate says it’s for 2-3 people but they serve it with only one piece of bread. Okay, cool, so what about the other 2 people you said the plate is catering to? Are we meant to break one piece of bread and divide it amongst 3 of us? Come on guys, it’s just bread, give us more 😂 ..octopus felt tasteless and yes, I love octopus considering I’m Greek and we do grow up eating it. The salmon I just don’t understand how it costs that much. Ok I’m complaining about a lot, I’ll say something good.. my seafood marinara was very nice. Also the Pinot Grigio bottle they gave us we were charged $60, but the actual bottle if you go and buy it yourself costs $20. I get it, make profit, but not $40 more of it. I dunno, each to their own - I’d never come back unless someone else dragged me there. On the plus side our waiter was absolutely lovely so good on him. He was very patient and attentive.

First time visiting this bar outside by the beach. The service from the lady in the attached photo was not friendly at all, zero customer service, zero hospitality, zero kindness. I felt attacked by her since I couldn't ask anything about my order or about the possibility of moving to another table and the answer was that they were busy but never with a scolding attitude. During the time we were in this area several customers felt grateful and displeased with her, for example she gave a drink to a lady and she told her that she hadn't ordered that and the answer was "you ordered online, so this is your order" and she left the drink on the table and left. To another customer she left the tray lying around as if there was no one at the table and the usual excuse "we are busy". I am leaving this rating of 1 because I cannot leave less solely for the issue of customer service, I saw other workers who apologized for the delay in orders and it is understandable but as a customer you expect good customer service since customers are the ones who make a business emerge.
