Visited Beachcomber yesterday. Trying to get the best out of what sunny days Melbourne gets. We got the table we wanted just on the sandy beach looking towards the ocean. Ordered through QR code. Ordered one beer one hot chocolate and southern style burger with Chip. You cant really mess up a beer and hot chocolate which was good atleast the drinks were. The burger arrived, mind you paying $30 for a smiple chicken burger with slaw and chips wouldnt be considered steep if it was actually tasteful. Chips soggy, like when if been left out and then thrown back into a fryer to warm up and serve. We asked the waitress for some Tabasco sauce, we got back a rude reply," no it only comes with one sauce". Yes we can see that it come with one sauce, we arent asking for free stuff obviously we will pay for a small sauce. Took a bit of the chips and was not impressed, how do you mess up chips. Sent it back to the kitchen to get fresher chips and also some Tabasco sauce, got told yes it will be out soon. Got new chips, well it seemed and tasted excalty like what was sent back with some good ones atleast this time.with tomato sauce again and no Tabasco. By this time we just gave up on even a sauce. With so many seagulls around obviously being a beach. We asked the waitress just to take the old chips plate away so the seagulls wont be hovering around. She picks up both the plates new and old one while we were still eating the new chips. We said, please leave the new bowl and take the old one, she drops both of them down on the table and huffs off saying I'll do it later. Is this the customer service you provide. It is basic customer service. Remember this is not for free, people pay money for the service, i dont owe you anything apart from being a decent person, if you have a restaurant, you are getting paid by customers for service and food, you are not providing it for free. No one is afraid to pay money for good food and service, when you charge money atleast deliver it to that expectation. Only thing that brings people to you is the fact of your location currently. Food is standard and your service is even...

Read moreAn Absolute Disgrace to the Hospitality Industry
If I could give zero stars, I would. My experience at Beachcoma Cafe and Bar was nothing short of appalling. The staff were not only rude but treated my family with outright disrespect in a way that is completely unacceptable for any establishment, let alone one that claims to be part of the hospitality industry.
Upon entering the café section—just metres away from the takeaway counter—I was abruptly and rudely told that I couldn’t bring my food inside. This was despite the fact that it was from the same restaurant, purchased moments earlier. Instead of a polite explanation, I was met with unnecessary attitude and hostility.
That alone was ridiculous, but what happened next was even worse. While my in-laws—accompanied by an elderly grandmother—waited for their daughter to pay the bill, they began gathering their things to leave. They had already asked to pay five to ten minutes prior, and their daughter was literally doing so at that exact moment. Yet as soon as they started moving, a staff member shouted at them in a completely inappropriate and accusatory tone, as if they were attempting to leave without paying. This was not only embarrassing but downright insulting.
Even after they calmly pointed to their daughter—who was standing at the counter paying—the staff still responded with an unacceptable attitude. The way they were treated was disgraceful, as if they were some kind of criminals. To speak to any paying customer in that manner is outrageous, but to treat elderly patrons and their family in such a way is absolutely shameful.
This place clearly has no understanding of hospitality, respect, or even basic human decency. Combine that with their absurd rules and a staff that acts like they are doing customers a favor just by existing, and you have a venue that deserves to be avoided at all costs.
Do yourself a favor and go somewhere that actually knows how to treat people with kindness and respect—because you won’t...
