A Hidden Gem for Food and Cricket Lovers! Bedis Restaurant is truly a hidden gem! The food here is absolutely delicious—every dish is bursting with flavor, fresh, and perfectly cooked. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, making it the perfect spot to enjoy a great meal. What makes this place even more special is its deep connection to cricket. With cricketer photos decorating the walls and a rich history spanning the last 45 years, it feels like a mini cricket museum! The collection of memorabilia adds a nostalgic charm, making it a must-visit for any cricket fan. The combination of amazing food, history, and a unique ambiance makes Bedis Restaurant a standout spot. I absolutely love this place and can’t wait to visit again. Highly recommended!

Cheap and cheerful, the friendly owner was too happy to stop for a chat. Colleagues introduced me to this place as part of the Friday lunch ritual. From the small menu, most of us chose the butter chicken with rice and roti. The meals arrived shortly after we placed the order. Generous pieces of chicken in deliciously creamy curry soon kept us occupied. I looked around and every dish was empty. Lots of praise by the colleagues who enjoyed their meals. For $12 this was extremely good value in a sit down restaurant. The decor hasn't been updated for ... and the menus are worn, but we came here for neither. As we excited, the owner cheekily says "see you next week." I can understand how my colleagues have become regulars here.

If there is a better Indian restaurant in Australia I haven't found it. The food is just so perfect. I was introduced to it by an old friend and it's known across Melbourne for it's butter chicken which is SENSATIONAL. I personally love the Madras. And they have a goat dhal that is off the charts good. There is a tonne of cricket memorabilia too as it's owned by relatives of bisham bedi. Nancy who is the owner/manager/waitress is an absolute delight, funny and charming in equal degrees. I can't rave about this place enough. It is the literal best Indian restaurant in Australia of the several hundreds I have had the pleasure to experience. Come. It's the best. PS The onion bhajia are the greatest

HORRIBLE SERVICE and tasteless food! That's the only word that can describe Bedis today!

I have been to Bedi's in the 90's and early 2000 when Mr & Mrs Bedi ran the place themselves and their food and service was a delight... Not knowing the place had changed hands I took some very special guests for dinner...

From the time we ordered food I could tell the current team was unprofessional, the food proved to be suitable for serving in a Bombay slump... The picoras were stone hard and you couldn't tell the difference between the half a dozen curries we ordered... they all tasted the same, essentially dog food served with a standard curry paste.

To top insult to injury the cowboys or more appropriately (cow Indians) turned the lights off while we were still eating.

Waste of money and...

We have lived nearby for a few years and had a friend recently ask if we'd ever been and couldn't believe we hadn't. So we went and we were very upset it had taken this long to go!! Food was absolutely delicious (butter chicken, masala dhal, rice and garlic naan + mango lassi). Service very warm and welcoming. Food was quick (food like this is typically pre prepared and reheated in pots, as it's a long slow cooking process, hence the speed of service). The vibe was awesome, we loved the decor and it felt like such an authentic experience. Very clean and you could sense the owner operator pride. The 2 owners took time to chat to us (and all other tables) and they are just the sweetest. Good old fashioned service, the way it used to be. Needless to say, we will...
