ORDERED: 🍽️ Feed me ($60.00pp) 🍞 Nepali fried bread: smoked eggplant & tomato dip, ghee 🐟 Cured yellowfin tuna: spiced yoghurt, grapefruit, peanuts, betel leaf 🥟 Pork Momo: tomato, sesame & peanut achar, pickled fennel, chilli oil 🥔 Golden beetroots: goats cheese, hazelnuts, seasonal fruit 🥣 Signature curries: we picked slow cooked goat & pork belly 🍚 Side of basmati rice 🍮 Chiya brulee + 🌮 Duck 'chhoila' roti tacos: with hemp seed chutney, cucumber, rhubarb & ginger relish ($22.00) Including 1 drink each, it was $89.00pp for two. REVIEW: I loved: 1. The service. Once the staff heard that we were celebrating a birthday, they made sure that our dessert came out with a candle and a little plaque. It was incredibly thoughtful and added an incredible touch. Would highly suggest coming to Lah Bros for an event! 🎂 2. Pork Momos. I've had a number of pork momos from Nepali restaurants and Lah Bros was the best. A thin dumpling skin and flavourful filling. I would have loved to eat more! 💛 3. Golden beetroots. It MASQUERADED as a potato in colour and form, so biting into it and feeling it... very hydrated... was a short fun thrill. 🎭 4. Nepali fried bread. I'm a sucker for fried food, and the salted puffed flat bread was the perfect entree. 💨 Personal preference but the goat curry wasn't for me. The taste was too heavy for my liking, loaded with spices. It was a bit intense for my novice tastebuds, but you may enjoy it! Overall, Modern Nepalese food is a niche I enjoyed. Great service, great pricing and a fun take on the typical food that we have. Their duck tacos reminded me strongly of peking duck with its slivers of cucumber as well!! 🦆

An absolute Gem and what Chapel St needs more of. My partner and I visited Lah Bros Friday night at 6pm, we were the first guests to arrive and were seated at the front window. The owner served our table, an incredibly polite and humble man. Offering plenty of advice with the menu. We were tossing up between the potato croquette and the pork croquette special. We decided to order the pork croquette special, dumplings, goat curry and confit masala chicken and finished with the chiya brulee. The chef brought out entrees to the table (they surprised us with a taster of the potato croquette!!) And we began to tuck in, they were all delicious but the pork croquettes were incredible. When she collected the plates she seemed so genuinely excited to receive feedback and be able to talk to us. We thoroughly enjoyed the goat, chicken masala and the dessert. A must try and we will be back, this was the complete restaurant experience for us provided by the humble owner and chef. We haven't walked away from a restaurant meal completely satisfied in a very long time and they hit the spot!

I love Nepali food but I’ve never had it like this. The restaurant offers modern takes on regional dishes from around the country and everything I tried was standout. The masala prawns make a great starter with a cocktail. The bara and momo are also musts. If you’ve had them before these will be familiar but have a playful spin. For my main, I shared the large size lamb skewer (4 skewers compared to the 2 in the smaller serve). They were tender and flavourful with a delicious salsa verde sauce, tatziki and tangy potatoes. The chorizo and cheese-topped Sichuan potatoes paired well as a side. The portions here aren’t massive, making it easy to save room for dessert. Try the cheesecake which is not too sweet with a fragrant hint of rice.

From the moment we walked in, the ambiance and warm hospitality set the stage for what was to be an unforgettable culinary experience.

The food was a perfect 10/10. Each dish was meticulously prepared, bursting with flavors that transported me straight back to cherished memories. The Masala Shrimp, in particular, took me on a nostalgic journey to the Malekhu riverside, reminiscent of the jhinge macha (shrimp) I enjoyed there. The Pork Momos were the juiciest I’ve ever had, each bite a delicious explosion of flavor. The Chicken Ribs were perfectly spiced and hot, a true delight for the taste buds. The Timur Potato quickly became a favorite with its unique and bold flavors.

For the main course, the Calamari and Beef Ribs were simply amazing, showcasing the chef’s mastery in balancing traditional Nepalese flavors with a modern twist. The Pork with Rice was equally delightful, each component complementing the other perfectly.

And then came the desserts, which were nothing short of mind-blowing. The cheesecake is a must-try, a perfect ending to an impeccable meal.

Beyond the extraordinary food, the service was impeccable. We had the pleasure of meeting the chef, whose passion and dedication to his craft were evident in every dish. His warmth and hospitality made the experience even more special, and we left feeling like we had made a new friend.I am definitely coming back soon to relive this fantastic experience. This restaurant is a gem, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a...

As a culinary instructor, I rarely write reviews because it’s not often I’m truly over-satisfied with dining experiences here in Melbourne. But last night at Lah Bros, I was genuinely thrilled.

We were a party of four, and I chose this place to offer something new and exciting for my guests. For me, a memorable meal isn’t just about being delicious—it has to be intriguing, something I can’t easily recreate at home. It should make me think, “Wow, this is a new flavour on my palate, and I want more.” Lah Bros delivered exactly that.

The standout dishes for us were the goat curry, the Kwati 9-bean dahl, and the grilled chicken. But honestly, every dish we tried was full of flavour and care. The dessert was the perfect finish: intriguing yet cohesive, staying true to the Nepali flavour theme.

It’s clear the chef has thoughtfully curated a modern yet comforting Nepali menu, blending tradition with a trendy, contemporary flair that truly works. I especially appreciated the chef’s down-to-earth personality and quiet passion—taking the time to explain each dish without rushing or pressuring us. The intimate atmosphere was just lovely.

The value was excellent—fresh, premium meats and vegetables, and portion sizes generous enough to satisfy. My only little request (a bit selfish, I admit!) would be to add a few more seafood or chicken options—I would love to see that on the menu.

I’ll definitely be back, and I’m excited to recommend Lah Bros to my cooking...
