Ordered two coffees. They have a $10 EFT policy. First time there - I was unaware of said policy. Coffees were $7.60. They asked me to get something else to round it up or over $10. But I had just eaten.
Coffees were made and I had suggested I just use my card on this one occasion to avoid the coffees being wasted. To which the guy replied "they wont be wasted I'll drink them" (insert really bad attitude here).
Confused (and embarrassed) by how badly the guy was handling this, I suggested perhaps on this one occasion to avoid the coffees being wasted that I use my card and perhaps we ask the manager to approve - to which I was scorned at "there is no owner or manager here, its $10!". Of course I was not going to pay $10 for two coffees to which he responded "no-one else has a problem with it!"
It was at this point that I had suggested I should make a complaint as the experience was so awful and escalated so fast - I thought management would like to be made aware - the guy said "go ahead!"... It was at this point I had defended myself and said "maybe a Google Review?".
What transpired next was shocking! The three guys completely turned on me (remember this is about me not paying $10 for two coffees). As I was exiting they began to yell out abuse across the café in an attempt to humiliate me in front of diners. They said something like "you dish it you get it..."
All I was doing was trying to grab a couple of coffees and use my card to pay for them instead of wasting already made coffees or paying $10...
Solution? Why doesn't the café, as per recommended by ACCC recent legislation allow customers to pay 1% extra to use your ETF machine instead of setting a $10 limit i.e charge me $7.676c to use my card ...But I guess, if you dish...
Read moreSecond time visiting this place (my first time was just takeaway which was ok) and I'm very disappointed this time by 1.the customer service and 2. the bill. I was misled when reading the menu. The disappointment came when it was time to order some food. I was sat down with the question "Do you want to start with a drink?" My usual- Almond latte. When the drink came, I was not asked if I'm ready to order food. I wished I had left it like this now. I had to turn to the counter, and waited for someone to be willing to ask me if I needed something. Otherwise, they were all having chats among themselves. I finally ordered some food. My order was 2 slide of bread (which I asked to be gluten free, being non of the wiser), Smoked Salmon, Mushroom and Potato Rossi. The Bill came to $40. If I knew I would have just have normal toast. Little did I know that dry gluten free bread without butter & Jam, which is what you will consider as toast was going to cost me $12.30. For 2 dry slice of bread. I had toast before and today I was not served Toast. I was so shocked when I got the bill. I try to dispute it and mentioned I did not have toast, but it was brushed off by it is the surcharge for weekend. The lack of Customer Service and expensive bread is definitely going to make me reconsider visiting this place again.
There's probably nothing that will come out of this but at least I've shared...
Read moreFor the past year, my partner and I have made this restaurant our go-to brunch spot, and it's become an integral part of our Sundays. Without fail, we find ourselves drawn back to the amazing food, coffee and service.
In all our visits, I've remained loyal to the BLAT, and let me tell you, it never disappoints. Each bite is a symphony of flavors, perfectly balanced between the crispy bacon, ripe avocado, fresh lettuce, and juicy tomatoes. It's become my Sunday ritual, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
Meanwhile, my partner indulges in the French toast, a dish that never fails to impress. Consistency is key and these guys have it.
In all honesty, I challenge anyone to find a BLAT that rivals the one served here. It's not just a meal; it's an experience that keeps me coming back week after week.
Please don’t remove the BLAT or...
