Very disappointed. It was my friendās birthday & we chose this from 5 restaurants due to its proximity to where we wanted to dance afterwards, however after this terrible experience Iāll be taking my girlfriend to #siena for the duck ravioli in orange sauce in Leederville - my first choice.
We ordered the $28 grande eggplant š sugo. From the first bite we were disappointed. The pasta was not hand-made and undercooked. It tasted like a $2 packet from Woolies. There was no flavour except acidic tomatoes and tomato paste. There was a noticeable absence of olive oil. There were no herbs or garlic. It was too salty.
I complained to the manager as we all felt the same & couldnāt eat our pasta. The owner/manager said his restaurant was popular & that I could write my review, & that it was his motherās recipe. Iād suggested maybe he needed more staff as he was busy and quality may have dropped.
He made himself a batch of the eggplant sugo spaghetti. His looked like his pasta was cooked better but other than that, they looked the same- I saw this gesture as useless as he hadnāt tasted our food. Heād mentioned something about credit but my girlfriend went to the counter with her girlfriend to pay. She didnāt want credit as she didnāt want to come back. We left 75% of our pasta - see photo.
Although weād started off on a good note ordering the polenta chips $12 and a bottle of Bandini Prosecco, my birthday girlfriendās glass had to be requested two more times after waiting an hour for her glass of white. A quick sorry was all she got from the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI went there with my dad for dinner on Friday night before a concert. We didn't have a reservation and thought we'd try our luck since I've heard good things about the restaurant. Was very lucky to snag a table! Very friendly staff, even though they're rushing around they're always helpful and bubbly. We ordered the porco rosso, the kangaroo rump and the primitivo wine. Wine was very yummy, as was the food! I like the option for small or large sized pasta and found that the small size was a perfect portion. Good flavours in both dishes, and felt quite authentic in taste. The polpetti were a little tough but well seasoned and the sugo was lovely. For dinner in the city, it's quite affordable and of high quality so I totally recommend as a nice meal. Definetly reserve a table before you go as it's a super popular place. The atmosphere is really nice, tucked away in the walkway (gave it a European feel). If you want to talk a lot, it may be a little loud but if you enjoy people watching it's perfect. I think that it's pet friendly on outside tables and kids would be very welcome here as there's quite a bit of space outside. Can't wait to...

Our second time eating here. Food has been excellent both times (apart from the 'Italian' side salad which is a disappointment). For the food alone, I would've rated this place 5-stars - however the service SERIOUSLY lets this place down.
My partner and I were seated for 10 mins before we were approached by a waiter. We ordered our food and wine. We started with the sharing platter and when it was brought out we were told that our plates would arrive soon. They never did.... Following the arrival of our main meals, we had still not received our wine. After trying on multiple occasions to get any of the waiters attention, we were either ignored or told that they would come over imminently (which they never did). In the end we had to get up and join a queue of people, who were waiting to pay, in order to ask the waiter if she could bring our wine over. Whilst waiting my food had got cold.
As this is not the first time I have experienced poor service here, i will not be coming back. I recommend to anyone who wishes to try the food (which is well worth trying) to get it delivered rather...
