As an avid food enthusiast and burger connoisseur, I never shy away from trying out new places, especially during my travels. This time, my wife and I decided to indulge in the much-talked-about Lord of Fries during our stay at the Pan Pacific Hotel. To our utter dismay, the experience left us feeling cheated and bitterly disappointed.
We had the misfortune of ordering what can only be described as a monstrous concoction, masquerading as a burger. Upon delivery, our excitement quickly turned into disbelief as we were greeted by a visually unappealing mess that we hesitantly decided to taste. One bite was all it took for us to confirm that this burger was not only an affront to the eyes but also to our taste buds.
The flavor was an unidentifiable disaster, akin to a blend of soap and some unknown, unpalatable ingredient. It was so repulsive that we could barely stomach a single bite. The sheer inedibility of this burger left us questioning how such a dish could pass any quality control measures.
To add insult to injury, the pricing of this culinary catastrophe was exorbitant. Paying a premium for a meal that was not only inedible but also a complete eyesore felt like a slap in the face. It's disappointing that a place with such a catchy name could deliver such a subpar experience.
In conclusion, our encounter with Lord of Fries was a massive letdown. A place that dares to call itself the "Lord" of anything should hold itself to a higher standard. I implore potential diners to think twice before indulging in the so-called delicacies of this establishment. Save your taste buds and your wallet the distress – steer clear of this disastrous...
Read moreIf you are used to LOTF in Sydney or Melbourne, be aware there are several major problems with this location.
The food simply isn't up to standard versus the eastern state locations. I have eaten here so many times, each time telling myself "it was just a bad day last time", but I've finally given up. It's been almost two years, I can stop deluding myself.
Firstly, the food.
The fries have always been soggy and "undercooked", no matter the cut, no matter if they're sweet potato. The burgers are fine tasting, but have always been sloppily assembled, no matter the person cooking out the back.
Secondly, the location.
Yes, LOTF in other cities doesn't have seating either. But this LOTF is in an extremely dangerous location, especially at night. While waiting for your food, which can be up to a 45 (!!) minute wait on busy weekend nights, you run the risk of being asked for money, robbed, caught in a fight etc. You'll always be harassed. It is a VERY dangerous street. The closest seating is either Hay St or Murray St mall, both of which are dangerous after dark. Somebody was killed this year close to this location.
It's either take your food somewhere else, which will render the soggy fries even soggier, or eat it where you will get your bag or phone snatched or get punched in the face.
I apply this same advice to the Hungry Jacks and McDonald's. Avoid this street and this block after dark ESPECIALLY if you...
Read moreFairly disappointing to be honest. I've heard people talk this place up a lot, and when I finally had the opportunity to try it, it was severely disappointing. I had the original burger and shoestring fries. Firstly, the burger bun is significantly wider than the patty, which seems strange, and means you're eating bread and an unusual sweet sauce for far top long. I personally found the patty tasteless, but my partner informed me there was a better patty that I didn't order.... so ok then! The chips were fine, too salty and heavy for my taste, but fine. If the Lord actually returned, these fries wouldnt be his first stop, is all I'm saying. Perhaps because I am not vegan, I was not accustomed to this vegan interpretation of burger and chips, but that not withstanding, the meal was too saucey, somewhat soggy, and chips too salty and unfortunately left me feeling quite unwell and I had to chug a litre of water to start feeling ok again. But, other people like it, so I'm...
