My husband and I popped in there for lunch on Fathers Day. The owner was very warm and friendly and showed us to our seats. We don't have huge appetites, so ordered dishes to share. We started off with the roasted eggplant and hummus dip with flatbread. That was beautiful. Lovely smoke flavour. We then had the lamb shank with the rice. It was beautifully served and the chef even offered to give us a slightly larger serve of rice as we were sharing. So kind. But we declined as we genuinely can't eat heaps. The lamb literally just fell apart off the bone, so succulent and the rice was sooo tasty too. We finished every last bit. He mentioned another small dish if we would like to try - flavoured mince with tasty small oval Turkish style bread. So glad we ordered that as it was also very tasty. He threw in an extra serve of the dish free because we said we loved it. So generous. We had no room for desert after that. We will definitely be coming back here with friends & family. The restaurant has a lovely ambience and the owner makes you feel so welcome. We really did have a wonderful meal. So if you like Middle Eastern flavours, I would strongly recommend you give this...
Read moreI’ve had various middle eastern food, but I’d never tried Saudi cuisine before, so I was very interested to experience it.
Walking into Oriental Breeze, you feel like you’re stepping into George’s (the owner) home — his hospitality and kindness are second to none.
We decided to start with the hommos, and then ordered the Kabsah with Chicken and the Okra with Lamb.
The chicken was cooked perfectly and the rice was very delicious. It made me an impression that the Saudi cuisine is more bland than Lebanese, Syrian, or Egyptian, but I didn’t mind this. There was a really good hot chilli sauce at the table, which really complimented the dishes.
The okra and lamb dish was really good. The lamb was cooked great and it melted in your mouth.
George brought us some tea too, which was really light and a bit sweet - very different to the Jordanian tea I’ve had elsewhere. It was really pleasant.
The knaffeh was very different to others I’ve had — I didn’t mind it, but I didn’t love it either — not because it isn’t good, it’s just personal preference.
Overall, a very nice experience and a great introduction...
Read moreOriental Breeze accepted to host our Christmas party, which was for 40+ colleagues. Everyone had a good time, thanks to the buffet set-up and the large variety of dishes provided . The free BYO was a plus for us, combined with other drinks available to order, which made it easy to provide everyone with what they wanted on the night. There was no time limit on the service / sitting time, which was very comfortable for our group.
Having the indoor and outdoor spaces was great, allowing people to go back and forth and talk to everyone along the night.
The owner George and his team were very friendly and helpful, available for all our requests on the night.
All colleagues had a good time and were really happy with the food, the service and the atmosphere.
We will definitely be back!
PS: first had 4 stars for service by mistake + 4 stars for atmosphere for the chairs that i think would benefit from a fresh change and new covers - by the time i posted, i saw George took on the feedback from December and ordered new covers - so changing...
