I went to Corica at about 2pm this arvo looking to purchase a birthday cake and apple strudel for high tea as its my wife's birthday today. Last time i purchased from Corica was about 1.5 yrs ago, and reason for that was the level of service was terrible...AND I experienced the same type of service today. The lady behind the counter chose to serve a supplier waiting on the side rather than to serve the 2-3 customers waiting. I was waiting for a while and was watching this lady, and yet she IGNORED me and chose to sort some things out behind the serving counter followed by attending to the supplier. The supplier felt bad and suggested the lady attend to me, the customer, first as she knew that I (and another 2 customers) was waiting for a while. My experience today (and 1.5 yrs ago) made me feel that I was neglected and it gives me the feeling of "if you dont like it....then leave...". After spending $65, I will not be wanting to experience this feeling again. I know that Corica is well known for its Apple Strudel, and has had the support of many South East Asians over the past 20+ years. But if this kind of ARROGANT ATTITUDE continues, this BAD customer service attitude, I believe, will lead to your business experiencing steady decline in the near future. I definitely did not feel satisfied or happy after my patronage. Very sad indeed...... RC...
Read moreMy husband wanted his 40th birthday cake from Corica so I ordered a HUGE cake a month in advance and had them write 'happy 40th' on it. I totally forgot about it the morning of the party (entirely my fault) and went to the store as soon as we remembered, but was closed. They had no way to contact them out of hours. We phoned the store but no one was there. We messaged their facebook page and got no answer back (ever). Monday morning they tried to phone my cellphone to talk about the cake (what is there to say, "would you like your giant sized, three day old, custard filled cake still?). I had purposely waited for them to contact me because I wanted proof they had my phone number the entire time. They KNEW it was for a big party. They OBVIOUSLY knew something had happened when we didn't get to the store before closing but they locked up shop and went home without contacting me. Given how far in advance we paid for it, a simple 'we are closing in 15 minutes, are you on your way?' would have reminded us and saved the day but instead we had a huge party with no birthday cake. I have nothing polite to say about this company and nothing polite to say to anyone associated with this business so I have not returned any of their calls. Deal with them at...
Read moreThe May 2023, 4.5 rating on the google reviews seems overrated to me. if this is 20 years ago, i might agree. in fact, the apple strudel WAS a one star michelin grade in my opinion. It gets worse with each year goes by.
I give one star, because they still maintain the nice shape, decorative and artistry of the presentation, very instagramable. but thats where it stops. ALL of what i bought are just cheaply made quality and sugar loaded, disguised as premium pastries. the almond was hard and difficult to chew and too sweet. the biscuit was tough to break and too sweet. eclair, horns and the mudcake, just too sweet, with barely any chocolate substance in it, only chocolate in colour. They are all too sweet that it hurts and break your threshold limit.
What change? The Corica founders should be ashamed as overseas tourists and local people synonymously define Corica as truly iconic of Perth. But now? i am sorry, i cannot say the...
