My mate and I had been at a different bar where you were allowed to bring in Uber Eats whilst watching the football.

We ordered Varsity Burgers and it was meant to be business as usual. When my mate went out to meer the rider, they did not show or the meal ended up in someone elses hands and bellies.

I left a voicemail at Varsity, hoping for a callback and to get a refund at least.

What happened next was top quality service. Emma the onsite manager, not only acknowledged immediately what had happened, but sorted our refund, and gave us a free pint and the meals we had ordered on the house. This to me was exceptional customer service and more than made up for the inconvenience that we'd experienced.

It was thoroughly appreciated by us, and above all there was no trying to back out of it, handball the problem to someone else or give the bare minimum as a square up. This action ensured we'd be return customers every day of the week.

One of the best burger joints in Perth.

There's been a lot of writeup and discussion recently on other burger joints. But I think Varsity is consistently up there.

Varsity burgers are a strong 8.5/10 for me. All of its components come together extremely well. While they don't do the trendy smashed patties, their patty is a good quality hand formed patty, and the toasted bun is excellent. The mouthfeel is always good.

I typically order the Cheeseburger Deluxe. If I want to be sick and meated out, I go for the Texan. And when I think I need something over the top, the McFly with onion rings. I also actually really like the Presley; the banana and peanut butter actually work! Saying that, I struggle to finish the burger as the peanut butter becomes a cloying, sticky, and over-rich sauce. Perhaps I'm just not feeling the spirit of The King enough.
