My feed back is we arrived and my reservation could not be found. We were greeted with hang on give me 2 seconds by a lady with an accent and tattoos not sure her name only description There was no warm welcome, no smile and no professionalism just so far from. She asked us where we wanted to sit we said outside so she sent us outside to a table that was dirty and had glasses and someone else’s food on it. We decided to leave, we were disgusted. Instead of just walking out we decided to let another lady that was standing at the desk in front of the lifts know. I said we have decided to leave and not dine here, she said ahhhh okay and tried to look for my name she said well we can’t find you anyway. I was shocked in her untrained customer service, her lack of respect or warmth. We walked towards the lift. I walked back to her. She told me her name was Carolina. So we went to 6head and spent over $450 on fabulous food drinks with many courses including desserts and we experienced the most fabulous night with such a warm welcome. The hospitality industry can be tough at times but to know what your business has on the front line representing your name should be taken seriously. This is where you are definitely losing business. Word-of-mouth goes along way and so does the way customers are treated. I hope this feedback is taken as a gift I was then contacted by a 2ic manager to tell me that we chose to sit outside and they don’t do table service there. WELL WHY WERE WE NOT TOLD THAT we have never been there before and will never go back. The 2ic Lia offered a 20% discount on dinner and two complimentary drinks. Thank you but no thank you, instead of trying to Just listen to the feedback. She just seem to try and find excuses for where we sat but sadly she didn’t see the bigger picture. It was an all round feedback regarding the Extremely poor welcome, The Appalling service and Negative mannerisms. Lia decides to email me a screenshot of my booking that they finally somehow found that stated seated IN THE RESTAURANT and in the email she said if it didn’t state seated, she would be charging me $50. How disgusting even the 2ic has disgusting behaviour. no one should be charged when the place isn’t even presented to eat at. Many tables were filthy I actually had to kindly ask the 2ic to stop with the back and forth emails, it was a lot So I’m hoping they learn from this as feedback is a gift...

I don’t know if we were just unlucky, or they recently changed the chef, but I was really surprised by all the high reviews for this bar/restaurant. First the good points, a great view over Elizabeth Quay from the 10th floor, especially at night and the wait staff were very attentive and friendly. Unfortunately, there were a lot of negative points for my partners birthday dinner, that she had been looking forward to for some time. We ordered the barramundi and salmon dishes with rice and sautéed vegetables. It looked great when it first arrived, but once we started eating the reality presented itself. My first bite was into a mushroom that was barely luke warm, the barramundi wasn’t bad but seemed a bit limp and also not hot. The sautéed vegetables were similarly just warm, the green beans were crispy and tasty, but the other vegetables were hard and uncooked, and not cut into bite sized portions. My partner chased a hard brussel sprout around her plate trying to stab it with a fork and I had to cut a large raw cauliflower piece into smaller pieces to make it edible. There is a line between crisp and raw and these vegetables were well on the raw side. The rice was not good, it was superhot, not steamed hot, but like it came out of a microwave, and it did not taste like fresh steamed rice. To sum up we really felt like most of the food came out of an underheated bain marie, or perhaps it was just left on the bench far too long. Other dining tables were too close, but that might be just my thing, and the lighting at our table was dim, it made reading the menu almost impossible, my partner had to use her phone torch. I like to support local business and hate writing a negative review, especially when nearly all the other reviews for this restaurant are very good, so it’s a mystery to me why our dinner turned out to be a...

We decided to go check this place out as it has such a beautiful view and also a restaurant new in Perth CBD. We were 30mins late for our table booking. Lucky the restaurant still kept our table. We were greeted by the friendly waitress, and she showed us to our table. We decided to order a few entrees, the first one is the Crispy soft-shell crab with sriracha cream sauce, it's very tasty, and you can't go wrong for the soft shell crab. The second entree, we ordered the Lamb ribs in Xinjiang spice in sticky spiced soy, crispy lotus roots. This entree dish is a highlight, and the lamb ribs cooked perfectly; it created harmony in flavours, the salty and sweet were just right. For mains, we ordered the Jumbo prawns, salted egg sauce on potato nest, goji berries. I like the salted egg with prawns. It's very tasty; the goji berries are just for the colour. The goji berries didn't have much flavours to it. The second main we ordered Seared wet-aged beef, shaved asparagus, diced cucumber, crispy bamboo mushrooms, fermented bean dressing. The meat cooked to the right texture, soft and it melts into your mouth. For dessert, we ordered the dessert board, it came with all these, Redgum Honey cake with handmade pistachio ice cream Cinnamon dusted churros with Belgian chocolate sauce and vanilla ice cream Chocolate lava filled with egg yolk custard and vanilla ice cream Honeycomb gelato with sliced fruits, honey crumb. It's good for more than two people. It was way too much for us, but it was good! They have the best view in town. There is an outdoor area that you can sit out and enjoy a glass of wine. The glass is high enough to stop the wind. It's good good spot for...

I brought my mother here for dinner and we had a wonderful experience overall. The view is absolutely stunning — a perfect spot for a relaxed evening. The bartender was very friendly, and the mocktails were surprisingly good, especially on a cold night when the place wasn’t too crowded and didn’t require a reservation. We ordered the set menu and were quite impressed with the food. The standout dish was definitely the steak — tender, juicy, and cooked to perfection. The rice was also fragrant and clearly made with high-quality grains. It felt like every element was carefully selected and thoughtfully prepared. One thing to note: the full course is quite generous in portion — we were absolutely full by the end! The only downside was the pork dish. My mother, who is from China and quite familiar with pork, found it difficult to eat. She thought the smell was overly strong and unpleasant, and even found some pig hair on the skin. I personally didn’t find it as bad — maybe I’ve gotten used to local Australian pork after living in Perth for a while. Perhaps the chef intentionally chose to keep the natural pork flavor instead of masking it. That said, Australian pork does often have a stronger scent than what we’re used to in Asia, possibly due to the breed or slaughter process. It might be worth exploring Chinese-style processed pork from Asian suppliers to better suit more diverse palates. Overall, though, HQ Bar + Kitchen is still a fantastic place to dine — great service, great view, and mostly excellent food. Definitely worth recommending!

We went here for a family celebration. The dinner was from a set menu. Pre-booked and discussed with food allergies/ intolerances considered. The food itself was nice, but nothing absolutely noteworthy. The portions were fair for this type of venue. Service was hit and miss. The maître dee was very kind and accommodating. The waitstaff were pleasant and some were meh- maybe a meh day for them? Our table had a guest request coke zero, had to remind waitstaff twice, and also cut chilli’s we needed to remind them a few times as well. Minor points to consider and would not have been a bother had it not added to the other little misses in the dining experience. There was an extremely long wait time in between courses. Which we felt was too long. And getting hungry. Considering our booking was at 6:30pm and the fact that our entrees came out at about 7:30pm (given our table had about 11 adults and 2 children). (It was from a set menu which was discussed by the family member who organised it). The photo of my entree i received is time stamped 7.51pm. My mothers main dish photographed time stamped 8:23pm. My desert of the lemon gelato was generous and delicious. Which I forgot to photograph, but 3 big scoops. Surprisingly. Everyone enjoyed there meal and left happy, but there were some inconsistencies which i hope they will iron out. I would definitely go there for drinks and nibbles but prob not for a sit down meal. The venue and view were very nice with a balcony and view of the quay.
