ABSOLUTE INCOMPETENCE on the part of people manning the inquiry desk at the Perth (WA) office. I visited the inquiry booth in person last week and inquired if notary public services were being offered at DFAT. The lady behind the counter said "Yes we do" and booked me in for an appointment for today.

Today, I got there on time, just to find out from the booth that handles document authorisations that they do not offer this service. I mentioned that "The inquiry booth mentioned that you do offer it". The person behind the counter says "Oh, may be they weren't aware". WHY WOULD YOU HAVE PEOPLE WHO DO NOT KNOW WHAT YOUR ORGANISATION OFFER AT THE INQUIRY DESK??? These people have no regard for people's...

If you want do legislation, you have to plan you need visit this place at least twice with min 1 hour waiting call time. Yes, even pretty much all federal department let you wait similar time. Called them to make a booking, wait about 1 hour to someone pick up the phone. Went there told me my documents cannot make requirements, so make another booking. They not open on afternoon, so it means I have to ask another leave for that. Ask them post back the document, they said not believe auspost and can only do normal post.
