Went there while on holiday in Sydney. It was conveniently located by my hotel. The walk to the Grillâd was about 5 minutes. The restaurant is located on the second floor when entering from the George St. entrance. Itâs visible when walking as you look up and see the âGrillâdâ sign above. Upon entering, itâs very wide and a bar in the background. I ordered takeaway (to go) order. I ordered a cheeseburger, onion rings, and a sparkling lemonade. It took awhile, even though they werenât busy. The cost was very affordable. The cheeseburger was topped with a different type of cheese as they donât offer American cheese. I also asked for pickles, onions, and lettuce on a sesame bun. They have several buns to choose from. The waitstaff brought my order on a tray and I reminded them it was takeaway. I had to wait for about 5-8 minutes for them to bag my food; again, they werenât busy. The hamburger itself was tasty, but wasnât hot. I really didnât like the cheese. The dill pickles were very crisp and crunchy. My onion rings werenât hot. The joy of the meal was the sparkling lemonade! That was very satisfying. I canât say I would never go back, I canât say that I would either. I will say the staff were very friendly and courteous. It may have been a bad day...
Read moreworst experience ever in my whole sydney trip. the staff doesn't seem to care about the place. ordered 2 burgers and 2 beers plus a cola. the lady give me the cola. i asked her if she's giving me the beer as well but she said it will be served at the table. after 15 mins i get the burgers and other sides but no beer. when i went to the counter to check she asked me if i had ordered any beer and asked me to show her the receipt. i had to tell her that no receipt was given to me and probably she realised her mistake and gave me 1 beer . the other she said would come to the table. after another 5 mins i had to walk up to her again to ask for the beer and she excused that the tap beer had finished and i could opt any other beer. ( gosh...... she was testing my patience )/ i took a bottle beer instead. then i received my VEG caesar Salad with chicken on top of it. hahaha i had clearly repeated twice while ordering i want no fish, meat ,egg or chicken in my salad. and here i am with a chicken caesar salad. i would say unattentive staff like this brings down the name of the place. no wonder the restaurant was quite dead with only 2-3 tables being occupied. the burger quality is average ,...
Read moreApprehensively ventured in to try the Beyond burger offering at Grill'd for the first time.
Greeted at the restaurant entrance and escorted to a table in what can be considered a reasonably spacious dedicated seating area for Grill'd. The food court on the lower level is a little cramped.
Took some time to go over the menu and decide on a Beyond Grill'd Burger with vegan cheese. Stood in line at the counter to place the order of a burger and fries. Wanted to feel the taste of the burger without any drinks or sauces
Found the burger to be light on the stomach, didn't have the filled up feeling that you get after consuming a beef Burger. Quite possibly this is due to the fats and oils that a normal beef Burger possesses. The Beyond patty doesn't give you the flavour that a beef Burger packs, or at least what I am used to. The positive here is that it doesn't taste like you're eating vegetables.
Beyond is definitely a step in the right direction and would probably be enjoyed by the vegetarian and vegan family members.
And just in case you thought it was low on calories, keep in mind that it packs almost the same kcal as a regular...
