Quite an entertaining night. It felt like we were on a prank tv show with how many fumbles there were with the service. Our waitress who was wearing all white with black curly hair actually did a great job. She seemed to be doing 90% of all the work, running around like crazy and didn't seem to make any mistakes herself. But all of the other staff/systems seemed to be crashing down around her. There seemed to be way too many "managers" in blazers doing very little work whilst also stuffing things up at the same time, which makes absolutely no sense since you would think they are supposed to be the experienced ones.
We waited a good while on arrival to be seated. A woman in a blazer appeared to be very slowly showing people to their tables and then we were greeted by another man with unclear communication / mumbling and fumbling. Several dishes were not available, I was given a wine that tasted old/bad, which was kindly replaced with the same mocktail as my partner, except that my same mocktail tasted completely different and much worse than my partner's. We felt too awkward to complain again so we just let it be. The food was very slow and then we were given the wrong food by a man in a blazer. Another woman in a blazer came to rectify the issue but only fixed up the other table (whose food we got) without fixing us up, so we were left hanging (only the white dressed waiter ended up sorting us out after a good while waiting). At the end of the evening our bill failed to take into account us being with first table, again the error of a woman in a blazer who didn't apologise and seemed to almost "suspiciously" check whether or not we were with first table. I also really disliked how on payment we felt forced into giving a tip as there was no option to select zero tip, you had to enter it manually. We didn't leave a tip because we strongly felt a tip was not warranted overall as well as being against tipping culture in general. This is Australia, not America.
Despite all of these foibles, mostly committed by managers in blazers, we enjoyed the night quite a bit. The food was very interesting and some dishes were quite tasty. The atmosphere was great and the value was very decent with first table.
Just comically pretentious without...
Read moreMy friends and I decided to celebrate our pre-Valentine’s dinner here on February 13, 2025, at 7:30 PM. Unfortunately, our experience was far from pleasant. While the food was decent, the service left a lot to be desired. Gloria, who attended to us while Angie was on break, was rude from the start, and her attitude only worsened as the night went on.
When she served our dessert, she simply poured the sauce directly onto the cake without explaining what the dessert was or what was in it. I thought it was standard protocol at fine dining restaurants to describe the dishes being served. While I wouldn’t have minded if she hadn’t explained, her attitude was completely unprofessional. After pouring the sauce, she left, but I noticed her rolling her eyes.
Later, my friend called her over and asked, “Are you okay?” to which Gloria replied, “Yes.” However, things didn’t end there. I noticed that Gloria kept staring at our table, getting closer and closer. At one point, she was giving me a dagger-like stare. I confronted her by asking, “Why are you looking at me?” and “What’s your problem?” She denied staring at me, but we made direct eye contact, so it was hard to believe her claim. Her behavior was rude and disrespectful, and it felt like we were inconveniencing her by simply being there. If she was having a bad day or wasn’t feeling well, she should have stayed home instead of taking it out on the guests.
On the other hand, Angie was a delight. She was friendly, approachable, and explained the dishes well. Her knowledge of the menu was impressive, and she truly made our experience much better. Sadly, Gloria’s poor attitude overshadowed the evening and ruined what could have been a perfect dinner with friends.
It’s a shame because the restaurant has potential, but based on this experience, I won’t...
Read moreWe went there for the birthday of our adult twins.. Atmosphere great. Wine was perfect. Food - we took the shared set menu for 4. All nice dishes except for a green pasta which was tasteless. Where we were REALLY let down was the service. It started with the waiter serving directly over the head of our daughter. We pointed out to him that this was not an appropriate way to serve. His response was that anything that fell off the tray was unlikely to hit her. He was proven correct when a fork fell, narrowly missing her. He made no effort to clear this and it sat under our feet for the duration of the meal. The worst part of the service was when the people opposite us, on the other side of the walkway, had a major drink spill into the walkway. They tried to alert a waitress without success. We tried to get the attention of the waitress at the next table behind us. Her response was to snarl at us that she was serving another table & would get to us when she finished serving them. She never got back to us. I might point out, for anyone not aware, that a drink spill in a walkway is a significant workplace safety issue, but your staff was not interested in finding out why we felt there was some urgency in getting their attention. A couple of other service issues that we won't detail here, but caused concern for our group as being inappropriate for a top class restaurant. This could easily have been a 4 out of 5 rating, the only loss being the tasteless green pasta, if only the serving staff were appropriately trained. Dinner $422.89 to receive unacceptable service. Needless to say this restaurant will not get a...
