I recently had the pleasure of dining at Pony and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience from start to finish.🤤
One of the highlights of our dining was the recommendation to share dishes, which turned out to be the best decision we made. This approach allowed us to sample a variety of flavors and textures, enhancing the overall enjoyment of our meal.
The duck sausage was nothing short of phenomenal. Each bite was bursting with savory goodness, and the unique combination of spices and seasonings elevated it to a whole new level. It was a true testament to the chef's skill and creativity. Similarly, the lamb dish was a standout. Cooked to perfection, the lamb was incredibly tender and flavorful, leaving us craving for more with every bite. And let's not forget about the seared tuna, which was an absolute delight. Sliced thinly and served with precision, the tuna was incredibly fresh and tender, with a delicate flavor that was complemented perfectly by the accompanying sauces and garnishes.
What truly set this dining experience apart was the impeccable service. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that every aspect of our meal was top-notch. Not only were they friendly and attentive, but they were also incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, offering helpful suggestions and expertly guiding us through the wine selection.
I must also give special recognition to the friendliest person we encountered during our dining experience: Manager Thu. Thu went above and beyond to ensure that our dining experience was nothing short of exceptional.
Speaking of wine, the pairing recommendations were spot-on. 🤩Our server Cahyo effortlessly paired cocktails and wines with each dish, elevating the dining experience to new heights. It was evident that the staff's passion for food and wine shone through in every recommendation.
Furthermore, the freshness and quality of the ingredients were apparent in every dish. From the first bite to the last, each dish was bursting with flavor and made with the utmost care and attention to detail.😍
Overall, dining at Pony was a true culinary adventure. The combination of exceptional service, fresh ingredients, and mouthwatering flavors made for an unforgettable evening. I will undoubtedly be returning soon to...
Read moreExtremely disappointed about how we were treated when dinning here. Attended on a busy Sunday with a friend as a “walk in”. We were advised there were no tables despite seeing on the computer screen availability in the “walk in” column. Within minutes of leaving the restaurant I was able to book a table on The Fork app immediately. We walked back to the restaurant and were seated after being questioned twice about the name on the booking. When I raised the point about being declined a table with the waitress that had indicated there was no availability, she was dismissive and blamed COVID and the need to abide by the rules. She also stated that people cancel bookings and it was difficult to keep track. I indicated that I found this difficult to believe given I was able to book a table within minutes of leaving the restaurant. In addition, we were in the restaurant for almost an hour and there were empty seats on the balcony. These seats were not “quarantined” for social distancing purposes because when we walked past later there were people seated there. We were dressed casually having just walked around the harbour and it was likely that we were discriminated against given what we looked like. As a person of colour I also felt discriminated against. We were extremely hungry and it was a busy Sunday and difficult to find a table elsewhere in the Rocks so we stayed to eat. We spent over $100 on food and drinks for 2 people. The feeling of being discriminated against was extremely saddening and should not be tolerated. I dine out at restaurants on a regular basis and have never had such an experience. I will never be going back to this restaurant and would not recommend this...
Read moreA Disappointing Experience at Pony Dining, The Rocks
We chose Pony Dining at The Rocks to celebrate my daughter’s 21st birthday, expecting a memorable evening with exceptional food and service. Unfortunately, the experience was utterly disappointing on every front.
The quality of the food was shockingly poor. Among the variety of dishes we ordered, almost every meal lacked flavor and failed to meet even basic standards of preparation. I personally ordered the 450g rib eye, medium rare, but it was so tough I felt like I needed a chainsaw to cut through it. When I raised this with the waitress, she dismissed my concerns, insisting it was cooked correctly. Around the table, other meals were similarly bland, uninspired, and unworthy of the premium prices being charged.
On top of the disappointing food, the service was intrusive and rushed. Throughout the meal, our waiter repeatedly interrupted us, either pressing us to order more or trying to clear plates that we hadn’t yet finished. It was clear their priority was turning over the table for the next sitting, rather than providing a welcoming or attentive experience for our party of five.
This was a special milestone celebration for our family, and instead of leaving with fond memories, we left feeling frustrated and disappointed. Pony Dining prioritizes profit over hospitality and quality, and this was evident in both the food and the service. We will never return and strongly discourage others from making the same mistake.
For the prices they charge, you’d expect a premium experience, but what we got was...
