TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE
I had a reservation at 8:30pm and on arrival was told to wait outside the restaurant (along with other waiting diners) while the tables were set up. Although normally I would have no issue with this slight delay due to late leaving diners, at this time it was raining.
After lining up to be sat at a table I was told frantically by one waitstaff that my table was not ready. While waiting for what seemed to be numerous tables to be pulled and a table to be set up I noted a number of other two person tables already set up.
I asked the waiter nearest to me (later found out to be Jerome) whether it was possible to be sat in on the already set up tables instead of waiting further. I was responded to in an extremely rude and obnoxious manner. Jerome was clearly flustered and responded angrily with ‘no’ without any explanation or checking of bookings. He then proceeded to respond with words to the effect of 'If you want another table I can give you that one' pointing to what can only be described as the worst table in your restaurant (next to the entrance wedged into a corner), not to mention it was also not set up.
I had an inkling that the staff member was being discriminatory based on what happened later in the night so I made a formal complaint and as expected the manager provided limited explanation and blamed their 'system'. Rather than pursue thought best to simply...
Read moreFor me, there needs to be AT LEAST 3 important aspects of a pleasant dining experience: AMBIANCE/SERVICE/MENU This restaurant is in an amazing location. It is buzzing with activity. The frequent Ferry drifting by, folks promenading along the waterfront, Luna Park next door & the Ferris Wheel lazily moving round. The Famous Sydney Harbour Bridge so close you can almost touch it, and breathing behind its neck is the also famous Opera House. Being Fathers Day one needed to book. Their CV19 entry procedures were in obviously in place. We were escorted to our seats with extra care shown me with my heavy Moon boot attached around one leg. Altho it was a set 3 course Menu for the day, it certainly was substantial. BYO!!! A HUGE plus. Ozzies love their BYO. Delightful French & Italian waiters with charming personalities took care of our requests. Taking the time to, smile, make eye contact & a few appropriate comments. NOT a sensation of being RUSHED like some restaurants make you feel. I guess the only negative comment I make is the style of their tables & chairs. Dare I say they need to be UPGRADED in a substantial way. Style & comfort have to be taken into great consideration. The few scattered poor quality cushions were not appropriate. Would I go there again? Of course! I have been a frequent customer...
Read moreUnfortunately had a really bad experience here on Christmas eve. I am never one to write a negative review I usually just let it go however I feel I need to share my experience to warn others.
I have dined here many times before and had a lovely time however this year I ended up with the most horrific food poisoning i've had in my entire life. I ordered oysters as an entré and the barramundi for main, something tasted off in the sauce for the barramundi so I'm assuming it was this that made me ill. After letting the waitress know she simply shrugged and took our plates. About an hour later after returning home I had stabbing stomach pains. No one else at my table ate the barramundi - I was the only one who ended up violently ill. This was the worst 24 hours i've had in my entire life, I was out for our entire Christmas eve and day as well as boxing day stuck in bed, I injured my head from fainting and ended up in hospital. Unfortunately I feel that ripples at Milson's point is relying on the view and the reputation and has lost its touch. The service was average, the interior looks dated and the food also average. I'm very sad that I am leaving this review however I feel I must share my experience.
I really hope this doesn't happen to...
