Food is really reminiscent of the food served in Japan! I had the Kaarage Curry, the sauce was very flavoursome, rice was soft and fluffy, the kaarage was well crunchy and not too oily, miso soup wasn't too salty, every thing was just right! I will point out that the curry was on the lower-mid end of the spice meter (I have a low tolerance), so best to ask if they have a higher spice option.
We did go during a very busy period, so please note to have some patience, both in getting a seat and waiting for the food - I truly believe it is worth the wait =)
Prices were reasonable, especially for the serving sizes! Range is $17+ for a single person plate, not including drinks (June 2022). Keep updated on their social media pages for their lunch/dinner menus, for a special treat/outing with friends/date night!
I couldn't check if there were wheelchair/pram accessible seats indoors, but there were a handful of tables for outside -- best to call up to make a booking if you need indoor seating.
Thank you to the chefs and staff, for a wonderful meal! Looking forward to my...
Read moreWe tried this place for dinner purely based on all the reviews and have to say that they are not wrong! Food was generous, tasty and could not be faulted whatsoever! The restaurant was clean staff super friendly and I loved ordering through the app which made it easy.
There is a good selection of sake and i also liked that you could choose your cup which I'm told is very traditional! My cup seemed magically cold for the duration of my meal
We completely overordered and reccomend that if you are getting a 'set' dont order anything else! there is more than enough in the set (and i eat alot!)
I've never been to Japan so I don't know how authentic this style of restaurant is however I think the general look of the restaurant just doesn't do the food justice. The group that I was with was unsure when we arrived and only with my persuasion decided to walk in. It's not that it looks bad or anything it's just that the style makes it more like a cheaper eatery and really not an indicator of the excellent food that is served up.
Definitely a go to for me whenever...
Read moreJust off the main food strip on Dawn Fraser Ave in Sydney Olympic Park, this Japanese restaurant has a casual and friendly vibe.
All the usual Japanese dishes can be found on the menu including a Korean rice dish Bimbimbap which I have photographed with this review.
The portion was generous and the sauce was a nice surprise. The sweet/spicy/savoury flavours with the chicken I chose to have with my Bimbimbap augmented my teriyaki chicken and went well with the fresh veges and rice. I’ve had more interesting miso soups however this one was tasty.
They appeared licensed with a large collection of whiskys so for those wanting to explore those delights there is something to please.
The staff and who appeared to the chef/owner had lovely manners. With inside and outside seating, one is away from the traffic on Australia Ave.
It took hunting around on Google Maps to discover shiroi orange. I’ll be back. Recommended. The prices are...
