I recently had the opportunity to book a rooftop event for 30 people at Slims Rooftop in Sydney, and overall I had a great experience. The service provided by the staff was excellent, and the view of the Sydney city skyline was absolutely stunning. Additionally, the food served was delicious and everyone in our group enjoyed their meals. Despite the wonderful experience, I have to mention that there was a downside to the evening. We were informed that we had to vacate the rooftop after a few hours due to another booking. This was disappointing as we had spent a considerable amount of money on food and drinks and we would have preferred to have been able to stay longer. Despite this, I would still recommend Slims Rooftop for events and gatherings. The food, drinks, and view were all excellent, and the staff provided good service throughout our time there. Overall, I would give Slims Rooftop a four-star review.

I've been to Slims a number of times and it would have to be one of the best rooftop bars in Sydney. Located at the top of Hyde Park House on William Street (behind the Australian Museum), it's a multi level "pub" with various venues on each floor with Slims obviously at the top...well it is a rooftop bar so 🤷‍♂️😛 The stairs are quite narrow and it's a bit like one way traffic at times but it's well worth it once you get there. The view of the city is amazing and there are plenty of chairs and tables to go around. Staff are super friendly and helpful and happy to offer food suggestions. About the food....it was delicious! Most of it is designed to share (unless you're THAT person!😂) and there was enough to go around for the four of us. I can recommend the salt and pepper squid, yum! Can't recommend Slims enough but make sure you book, especially in summer, as it gets full really quickly.

Had a girls day at Slims rooftop! I rate this venue for their cocktails and unique venue. It’s nice on a spring/summery day to sit in the sun, laugh with your friends and sip on a few cocktails. The four of us tried a few different cocktails and had some snacks, all great and I recommend trying this location. The vibe is definitely “Sunday sesh”!

A friend had booked an area for his birthday on Slims Rooftop. There wasn't sufficient space for all people, so 5 of us got a table nearby to the bar & were standing/purchasing drinks and socialising. This was outside of the booking and the table was not reserved for anyone.

Extremely disappointed with the management as we were hassled to move from our table to nothing... as we attempted to explain the situation, the lady started screaming at us because she was unable to calmly understand the problem and offer a solution... and instead she continued to repeat/scream the same sentences?

After spending significant amounts of money and be subjected to that, I'll never go back here again! we got incorrectly directed off our table and then screamed at... This was just my experience, I really hope they take a more customer focused approach with their patrons. It's really disappointing to see this, it's part of their jobs to assist patrons with their concerns, not to scream at them!

Aside from the above, the barstaff were amazing and the cocktails were delicious. .........................

🔹️In response to Slim's response to my review above:

After your response, I read other reviews for this rooftop bar just now, how coincidental, that the same lady staff member has raised her voice at other customers as well? Has she denied it everytime...? lol! this seems like a very common occurrence @ Slim's! and yes, if I'm mistreated at an establishment I do leave a review so they're aware of what occurred.

I rightfully questioned her ability/capacity to fulfil her duties within her role, as a core part of her job is customer service, yet she didn't have the customer service skills to negotiate and solve the issue, instead resorted to screaming (which is obviously how she "solved" problems before, based on other reviews lol).

I think your response displays a massive lack of understanding for your customers! Does Slim's management agree to this as a format to solve customer concerns? How many times has she denied screaming at customers? And then you accuse the customers for having "bad vibes"? lol! you're no better at solving customer concerns either.

Again, bad vibes? yes, your staff epitomise the same! I suggest you revisit your employee selection criteria and replace "screaming at customers" with "Understand customers and addressing concerns" within their job description? how's that for constructive feedback 😄👍

................................................

🔹️In response again, just to be crystal:

The table we were requested to leave from (near the bar) was not booked, this was confirmed by Slim's staff. We were left stranded/standing with food and drinks, so decided to place this on the reserved table until the booking arrived. Precisely, the time when screamy slim arrived to spray her spit everywhere. Had screamy slim let her colleague, the gentleman handle the situation, I wouldn't have posted this (because he wasn't screaming 🙂).

I'm confident you watching CCTV camera footage in a loud music filled rooftop event, would not be conclusive when determing whether screamy slim was infact screaming? you have multiple negative reviews for staff "raising their voice at customers"? so please, stop the blatant lies...👍😄 & stop suggesting that I'm making this up? 🤦‍♂️ apply some common sense?

Finally, you have multiple reviews for rude staff!!! The message doesn't get through, yet you continue to shoot down the customer for giving you constructive feedback! The owner should take some action... train screamy slim to communicate, thats all I ask!

I'm sure you will receive similar reviews if screamy slim isn't trained! (doing you guys are favour here...

Was so looking forward to a night at Slims rooftop with my parter for a celebration. As there was only 2 of us and it specifies that you can not book the rooftop with a group under 10, our only choice was to walk in and wait, which we knew before we got there and were happy to if necessary. So after travelling over an hour from our home to get to Slims, we were indeed told that we will need to wait BUT with the assurance that we were next in line and it won’t be long! So we got a drink at Jessie’s cocktails and began the wait.

From the conversation with bouncer who was manning the list, we were under the assumption it wouldn’t be no longer then 10-15 mins. 1 drinks worth. After 20 minutes we check to see if we’re any closer to getting to Slims Rooftop, and again we are told that we were almost there, it won’t be long. We were advised to get another round of cocktails and wait. Ok, 1 more drink at Jessie’s and we should be up there. We’re getting really hungry! And was so excited for the food at Slims as was the main reason for choosing to go Slims and we believed would be worth the long travel time.

Now it’s been 40 mins. We’re bored, hungry and getting a bit over it. There’s 2 of us!! If we’re told it won’t be long, I assume not 40 mins. But we thought we’ve come this far so let’s make the most it. We buy another round. 6 cocktails between us by this point. We finish the round and now we’re really hungry and over it. So we check again after 1 hour and 10 minutes of WAITING and we’re told they are no longer letting any more people up to the rooftop and have closed it off to walk ins!

You can imagine the disappointment and frustration after all of that! If you have a Wait List, make that your priority. I hate that I spent money on 6 cocktails after the bouncer kept saying we had time for another drink and that ‘it won’t be long’. We understand that it’s busy and you may have to wait but unfortunately by the time we were told that the had completely closed off Slims Rooftop to Walk In’s, it was too late to find anywhere else (we called about 15 places - All booked out, walked around the city for 45 minutes - couldn’t get in anywhere due to being fully booked) we had no choice but to return home. We won’t be going back to Slims to gamble with the hope of a dinner...

Both my friend and I got food poisoning from their burgers on Saturday night.

We had eaten breakfast and lunch separately, the only meal we shared in common was slims burgers. We don’t know anyone else who has been sick (no roommates, friends, coworkers, or acquaintances), so could not have been a stomach bug.

We both had the exact same symptoms. Started vomiting up our burgers around 2am, after that stomach cramps and dry heaving as there was nothing left to throw up. Shivering and sweating. Did not sleep a wink until 6am and Easter weekend was ruined. I have not been sick like that since I was a child.

We messaged the bar to let them know about this issue and give them a heads up so no one else would get sick. We received the following response (no apology, not even a question to find out more information/verify the safety of their food):

Thanks for the note. We sold a lot of other burgers yesterday and didn’t get any complaints.

Food poisoning is incredibly serious and in some cases fatal. Luckily we were two young healthy people, but it’s clear there wasn’t even a preliminary attempt to investigate food poisoning from the food they were serving customers.

If you look at the long winded and aggressive replies to other patrons reviews on Google, you can see a lack of accountability or an apology for mistakes is the standard response.

No doubt this review will receive a similar aggressive and condescending reply.

Steer clear of this place if you value your health.

Edit: quelle surprise, just like with every other one star review, the restaurant obviously did nothing wrong. For the record, they did not even try and verify which burger dish we ate.

Highly unlikely both me and my friend became ill at the exact same time immediately following eating at this restaurant, having spent very little time together previously and no other people we know/met being ill either before or after. Surely far more likely anyone else who may have fallen ill simply didn’t reach out (maybe because of the rude and dismissive responses), or our specific food was contaminated/improperly handled/stored. Not every instance of food poisoning is a...
