Sun Ming B.B.Q Restaurant — Restaurant in Sydney

Being completely honest, Sun Ming has been around for as long as I remember. I'm recalling when there was still a significant amount of Chinese retailers around this area of church street.

What I can say was there was some consistency with what you get their Cantonese style cuisine, now I'm not so sure. First thing the prices are significantly higher than what you'll find outside of Parramatta, in terms of value it's much healthier for your wallet to travel outside to either Eastwood, Burwood or Cabramatta for takeaway. It's ridiculous how much is being charged here.

Secondly the service by the owners here can be quite negligent when you were to ask a simple question. It's not my first time coming here but after my third there still was no basic greeting or eye contact. I understand business is hard especially within the area of church street where there is barely any foot traffic but maybe consider what direction this business wants to go because it's absolutely depressing seeing it at this state.

I'll leave you to decide your experience here but frankly after my third time purchasing takeaway and what I felt, I probably won't give a second thought about returning. For food wise it was sufficient, can't comment anything...

You don't go here for the service but you do always get good food.

Unfortunately I will not be returning to this restaurant after receiving unequal treatment when compared with other customers due to race. I have been coming to this restaurant for many years with my very Asian-looking family and we always receive the complimentary soup. I have since dined at this restaurant with my caucasian boyfriend a couple of times and have not received the soup (!) The first few times this occured we assumed that it was a mistake, however, after dining at this restaurant this evening (date:24.2.2021) it is almost certain it was not a mistake. I noted that all the "Asian-looking" diners received their soup bowls and soup before they even ordered, however, our table and the table with the only other caucasian in the restaurant did not receive such service. When asked about this upon paying for our meal, the waiter said it was a mistake but did not go on to fix his "mistake" with the other customer.

!!!WARNING!!!

Got food poisoned by this restaurant - arrived at this place on the 17th feb 19, 8pm. Ordered combination chow mein, a whole duck, fried rice and beef curry.

(there was 13 of us - 4 adults and 9 kids) - we were sitting next to the entrance and the fish tanks - we took up 2 long tables. firstly my 4 year old brother wasn't feeling well after having a few bites of the combination chow mein. We then kept eating and left the restaurant around 9ish. (Had some takeaway of duck and curry beef and fried rice) Once we got home all the 9 kids including my father wasn't feeling these symptoms included diarrhoea headaches and vomiting. I wanted to eat more and then i noticed some greenish orange-ish colour on the duck as the light was shining on the food.

Until this day my family hasn't been feeling well until it was confirmed by the Doctor that my family was food poisoned and also run some test
