Today we had the 5 course A la ca meal. We started with garlic and rosemary freshly made bread roll with an olive oil and chilli pieces dip. Rolls were delicious but I’d prefer butter to oil. Partner enjoyed oil dip. First course was oysters with caviar. I don’t eat oysters and either does my partner so we didn’t have them , but those around us that did seemed really enjoy them. Second course was a tamarillo , roast pepper, fresh mozzarella salad. This was my favorite dish of the day. Very light and fresh. Third course was quail and cabbage. Quail was cooked lovely and very nice, cabbage had a lovely sauce/ dressing but again a lot of olive oil. Still a lovely dish. Fourth course was a lamb rack on polenta with a bushman’s sauce. The lamb was cooked to perfection and the rest of the meal was also quite nice. And to finish off the meal we had a tamarind soufflé with a jackfruit ice cream. Unfortunately we both found it overly sweet and left a strong taste in our mouths . Not a favorite of ours at all. As for the staff and service I would give them a 10/10. They were always close by ready to serve but not in your face, cleaning dishes, offering drinks, giving you clean cutlery after each dish. Polite and willing to help in any way they could. The restaurant itself was inviting, clean and comfortable. We would definitely recommend and...
Read moreWhat a fantastic experience. All staff were warm, naturally hospitable, and so accommodating, caring, and well-informed. We couldn't fault any staff member, and while all our experiences there have all been 5star, what completely blew my husband and I away was the quality of the kids' menu. I've never, ever seen such a wonderful selection of kids meals or such beautifully presented and cooked kids' meals. It was not your usual junk menu for kids. It was a very well thought out menu (for all items) and our hats off to the chef's. The eye fillet kids meal absolutely blew us away and the kids loved it (even the veggies). Thank you to all the staff at Nautica. You made our stay at the Rydges so special. We love every meal we have there and we look forward to...
Read moreDisappointing an understatement. Order food, took them 40mins to work out they can't provide what we ordered. Order mug of coffee, basically warm milk came out and was in a cup (the people behind us had the same issue), the pancakes tasted like orange peels but nowhere did it say it had citrus in it, and the waitress knew we were ordering for a child. Eggs Benedict came out cold. Took us over a hour to get the food and a good half hour to get some juice and coffee. Absolutely disgusting waste of time and money, don't be fooled by this place, we thought the lack of reviews wasn't a good indicator of quality so thought we'd try it ourselves,...
