I was at the Inn hotel for their hottest 100 party. It was pretty packed, nice day, everyone having a good time. Good vibes all around. Well, not all around. I was quietly fuming.
Having paid $35 for my initial ticket, and having been given a wristband, I left the Inn knowing I was safe to come and go as I please because that is the whole point of having a wristband. I have never seen otherwise, and didn't think I ever would. Unfortunately for me, I was told only upon re-entry that I would have to pay another 35 of my hard earned dollars to get another wristband (which went bang-smack next to my first one) in order to re-enter. Call me a chump, because like a fool I coughed up.
While I wrestled with the decision of whether I would stand my ground and stick it to the man, or enter back to where my friends were, some other (somewhat inebriated) punters semi-aggressively voiced their displeasure over the same matter to the young ticket lady at the door. I obviously can't support that, staff are only doing their jobs (and I'd like to add that all the staff throughout the day were great), and yet I certainly understood the ire of these blokes. I only hope the profits that the Inn make from poor sods like me justifies the verbal abuse which their staff are sure to cop from such a practice. Highway robbery.
In conclusion, the wristband was rather misleading. If you're not gonna let me back in at least let me know in some way before I've left.
The Inn, I'm not mad. I'm just disappointed. I'm also a...
Read moreWhen the late Slim Dusty sang all those years ago about "A Pub with no Beer", in foresight maybe it was The Inn that he was talking about. Had a group for Sunday lunch & when trying to order tapped beer, we were told that they only have 1 tapped beer available (1 that I'm not a fan of) & no light beers at all (not even stubbies!) - very poor when 1 of our group was driving & normally drinks light beer only. There was also very little available in the wine variety. The friendly sole staff member did a great job on her own but to say that the reason they were low stocked due to a busy night on the previous evening doesn't cut it. Also, some of the group were paying by cash but the venue didn't have enough change, so those payments had to be made by card. If you can't properly cater for Sunday lunch guests after a busy Saturday night, then don't open! We were seated in a nice room at the front & had it to ourselves, although it would have been nice if the nearby bucket & mop had been previously removed from the area. What saved the day for them from an even lower rating was the meals. They were very good, although 2 of them were lukewarm. Amazingly, they don't even serve coffee, which we found out when 1 of our group enquired. Used to love this venue back in the day but won't be returning while it's...
Read moreWhat an unsafe place to be in. My friend started having a medical emergency, but the staff and security did not care. In fact, they were laughing, swearing at us and being hostile. My friend was passing out every few seconds or so, and throwing up too. She was not safe, and people were there to help her. However the staff were completely negligent. In another instance, a girl had accidentally fallen backwards on the stairs and hit her head. Again, the staff took no consideration regarding her health, and even kicked her and the people looking after her, out of club. This is absolutely appalling behaviour. Whichever staff was working on the 24th August 2023, roughly between 11:45pm and 1:00am, should be extremely disappointed with themselves and their lack of basic empathy. For anyone looking to go out, The Inn Hotel should not even be a consideration. The people working there did not care about the safety and well-being of the people attending the club. I am surprised it is still a functioning business. DO...
