Travelling around for work a lot and have the unfair benefit of seeing a lot of good restaurants- this year is one of my top spots in Europe. You know when people always talk about this “hidden gem”? Small place a bit off the usual paths with outstanding food? Maier’s is that pink unicorn coming to live. The meat is absolutely top notch and well prepared- to the point. Medium rare comes as medium rare and not raw in the centre and well done on the outside as in so many other restaurants. Extremely high quality and great seasoning. Vegetables and salads are fresh and their home made focaccia is some of the best bread I’ve eaten and I also recommend the Tartar. The restaurant employs a very knowledgeable and attentive sommelier and provides an excellent choice of wines- bottled and open- to pick from. The place itself is in Salzburg’s oldest street, 10 minute walk from the city centre. At good weather one can use their tables on the street with a bit of medieval atmosphere. Inside it’s the said whole in the wall- not too many tables, close to the kitchen, but very cosy and not cramped so even when fully occupied, one has enough privacy. Prices are on the slightly higher end but still good and for the quality provided actually cheap....

Went there for dinner with my wife and this is definitely one of the best steakhouses we ever dined in across the world. First mention for this excellence in customer experience goes to the staff in that place, our server was so helpful, super friendly, and so engaging that he made our ordering experience fun and we learned a thing or two about preparing the perfect steak ... thank you Mr you know who you are ;) you made our dinner unforgettable.

Other than the main dish(steaks) which were cooked perfectly right that they melted in our mouths with full flavour... the salad was great fantastic dressing and the shrimp starter was so good we decided to try and copy the recipie back home so thanks for that new addition to our home cooking menu ;)

The melting chocolate brownie with vanilla icecream smelled heavenly the moment it was placed on the table and the taste confirmed this first impression and the creme Brulee was flawless by all means.

We will certainly be going back to this hidden jewel of the charming city of salzburg.

Again kudos to the amazing staff you bring this...

My family of five spent three days in Salzburg and ate here on our last night.

This generational family owned restaurant did not disappoint! The establishment itself is located on narrow cobblestone streets way back in the local cuts.

We were served by one of the brothers who is also one of the owners is English was impeccable his service was swift Charming, accommodating, and genuine. Overall, the whole restaurant had a overwhelming sense of welcoming as we walked in the door.

OK now the food what can I say? Nothing short of perfection with the prime rib it literally Her mouth we also tried the carpaccio prepared to perfection.

Needless to say nothing was left on anything we ordered from the drinks Dessert, appetizers, etc. 100% consumed.

We spent $380 Not including a tip and we all were filled to the ground with this delightful...

Stumble onto this place via Google search and the 4.9 ratings. Lovely cozy space and we came without reservation, when the friendly host says it's a last tall table and our only opportunity, we were wondering what she meant. Food was absolutely on point and though it was 2 person in the front of house (host & waitress with a sommelier & waiter) the service was warm and prompt. We ordered a 300g ribeye to share and they took the initiative to slice the meat as a sharing portion. We were in a happy place with the slight heat steak tartare (so happy to see chili padi, coming from Asia), garlic prawns, many glasses of tasting wine, ribeye which was the star and a dessert to wrap up the meal. Best meal during my 5 days stay in Salzburg! So glad we had the opportunity :) Love small family run places like this, a must go and 5 star establishment.
