Absolutely adored this place. My sister and I visited Salzburg for a week in Feb and found this place halfway through our time there. After that, we went almost every day for dinner. I wish we had found it sooner.
The food is just so delicious and such good quality. There is so much flavour in all of their dishes, and they're presented beautifully. Great textures and cooked really well, I genuinely couldn't fault the food at all! The Italian dishes were excellent, but the Austrian dishes were done fantastically too. My sister ordered the chicken schnitzel on our last night and it was genuinely divine. I ordered the penne tonno al pomodoro 3 times because it was so tasty. My sister also had the carbonara and the lasagne, and she had raving reviews for both.
The prices are on par with what you expect for dinner at a local restaurant; genuinely think they could charge more and I would absolutely pay it for the quality of the food you get. Drinks are spenny but on par with everywhere else we visited. It was around €40 euros for both of us for dinner and drinks each time! Very good value for money. We paid by card every time and had no issue.
The staff were so lovely; friendly but not in your face, and gave you space to enjoy your evening while still checking in here and there. There was one staff member we saw every day there in the evenings who recognised us after the first night and warmed up even more after that. The staff member (I didn't get their name sadly) wished us a safe journey home on our last day, and was always smiley and kind even when the restaurant was crammed. We spoke a mixture of German and English while there and all the staff accommodated, switching between German and English for us. If you can't speak German, you're in safe hands here!
The restaurant itself is warm and cosy, with lovely lighting and decorations. Even during busy periods there wasn't an unexpectedly long wait for food or drinks, even with only two wait staff and (I think) one or two chefs.
Honestly can't recommend this place enough, definitely one to visit if you're in Salzburg, and if we're ever there again it'll be the first place we go!
THANK YOU for such a...
Read moreToday is December 31st, 2024, I have just dined in this restaurant. The food is low quality but that is not what brought me the last day of the year to write this sad review. The SERVICE WAS SO RUDE.
Me and my family arrived at 19:50 h. After ordering a pasta al pesto and a pizza, it was 20:35 when we ordered our waiter one tiramisu and two hot chocolates. After that, the person behind the bar preparing the coffees (who seemed to be the manager or the owner) came to us and with very bad manners he said that he was not going to serve us desserts. Then another guy came with the same attitude to us saying that after two hours we were occupying an existing booking. I was perplexed...! Our waiter, who kept the manners and said nothing, brought us the tiramisu and the two hot chocolates. The two hot chocolates we could not drink, it was basically hot water (photo attached), it seems the manager wanted us to leave. When I left I said I wanted to clarify that we had arrived at 19.50 h, that we had only been 40 minutes since we had arrive and that had been one of the worst experiences I have had in a restaurant. The second guy in bad manners said 'sorry I mistook your table with another one', but still in a bad mood.
When I go to a restaurant I go for the food and the service. Neither the food or the service deserve even one star. It is 21:13 not even 30 minutes after we left the restaurant, I am leaving this review as soon as I arrived to my hotel. If you are reading this, I encourage to go to the dozens of wonderful restaurants that Salzburg has, but...
Read moreBefore I continue I must tell you that I can't comment on the food as we didn't even had the chance to eat, I will explain later. So we took a seat at this restaurant, the waiter gave us the menus quite quickly so all good up until here. When he comes back to take the order, he proceeds talking to one of the customers while we were trying to talk with him. The waiter was really rude with the customers but we just assumed that they know each other. This was the first red flag. Then he turns back to us, and we were asking some details about the food. They had 3 types of wiener schnitzel but two af them were served with tagliatelle which we found very strange and asked if we could change the side dish. When we told him about the "side dish" he proceeds telling us "brothers, what side dish ??? This is only with tagliatelle!!!" Then we asked about another food from the menu and again he told us annoyed "brother, this is the menu!!!!" He was very rude on how he talked with us and we do not appreciate to be talked to like that, considering that we were very polite. At this point, my blood pressure was rising so we just got up and leave. Of course, he was more rude and snatched the menus from the table and he mumbled something. With this attitude, of course that we wouldn't stay there to eat. So yes, 1 star is more that I would give to this restaurant. I have been to many restaurants but never was treated so badly before. So no, I wouldn't recommend...
