Decided to go there cause of the reviews. Quite disappointed.. Food is eatable, nothing special really. I guess they never even heard costumer and service together or know meaning of it. It took quite some time for them to realize that ppl came in, no matter that place was totally empty once we got in. Food came on time which was good, but no matter that I made sure I’ve told them „No onions“ seemed like nobody cared, it still came with onions and after 15 minutes of waiting for anyone to show up to tell them about it,no one did so I just gave up. Place isn’t kid friendly or baby friendly at all, first it’s almost impossible to carry baby stroller on those stairs and also they have place even left to put a stroller at table, I’m not even talking about any chair or anything for them.No one even meets you while entering so you have to manage everything yourself, which we somehow still did and once my baby girl dropped glass of Cola it took us ourselves and some time to find at least papers at their bar to take care of it, as still no one was there. Once we were about to pay at least 3 Person came out from kitchen to have lunch or dinner or whatever, so basically that’s how we realized they were even more than one but nobody was giving any attention about our existence. Prices are quite high for this kind of service, portions they have and food quality they offer. So for „way to India“ I’d give away just 2-3 Score out off 10. For those who wants an advice or recommendations if they have to go there, I’d say try to find different ways to India 🙃 Cheers Ps. this is old review apparently blocked by google and just asked for update so I did it, the place might have been totally different nowadays at...
Read moreDefinitely No, atleast for the Butter Chicken and Garlic Naan. The Butter Chicken neither had a good tasting chicken nor the gravy. The gravy felt like some cooked butter water. I could see the cashews in the curry and they were raw. The cardamoms had hit my teeth while eating this. I couldn't eat the chicken as the pieces were extremely salty. I just ate one or two pieces and couldn't eat more than that as they were so salty.
The rice given with that was plain basmati rice and did not taste like same day cooked rice. I felt it wasn't fresh. The "garlic" naan, wasn't definitely the garlic naan. I could literally see the garlic power sprinkled on the butter naan and the Chef tried to fry it on the pan but little did he know that it the small garlic particles would burn on that hot frying pan. I could see the burnt garlic powder on the butter naan, which they served to me as Garlic Naan.
I know based on this one dish you should not judge the entire other dishes, but with the way the food was prepared, the negligence in making fresh food, trying to just make the food appear like food without any proper recipe to follow, lead me to give a single star rating and this bad review. If I am being too harsh on the restaurant, I am sorry but this is how it felt while eating those chicken pieces in the butter chicken cooked/boiled in a salt butter water. I wish I had taken the photos to support this...
Read moreVery close to Hauptbahnhof (central station). Downstairs here you can find Asian cuisine and upstairs - Indian cuisine. People working here are very few- so you must wait for long time for them to respond. It is Simple and donot expect a great ambience at this place. Winters, be aware it’s cooler inside (I guess there is no heater on). We have ordered vegetable biryani, shahi paneer (NO RICE is served with vegetarian dishes and it is ONLY for Non-vegetarian curries/dishes). Roti is good and hot - freshly made and is served with a salad (onion, hari mirch and lemon) Shahi paneer is okay and I donot say it is pure authentic. Vegetable biryani is served with raita (raita is good). Donot expect Vegetable biryani as biryani from south India or atleast from north India. But this is like Vegetable pulao served with biryani appearance. They also serve tap water(free of cost) and mineral water - you can ask the person who is taking the order. Bill is paid downstairs even if you choose Indian...
