We had the pleasure of visiting Ali Grillhouse during our trip to Vienna. While staying at the Le Méridien hotel, we were delighted to discover this wonderful restaurant just a short walk away.
Before arriving in Vienna, we had been in Barcelona and Nice, but unfortunately we struggled to find restaurants that offered both delicious food and reasonable prices. The meals there simply didn’t compare. That’s why finding Ali Grillhouse felt like such a treat—it truly exceeded our expectations. Prices are very reasonable!:) and of course food is delicious!! Kebab was perfect! The breads! Deliciousssss! Fresh and soft- home made!
The location is excellent—right in the heart of the city, close to the opera house and Vienna’s vibrant shopping district. As lovers of Turkish cuisine, we were thrilled with the fresh, flavourful dishes served here. The service was impressively quick; in many other restaurants we’ve visited, service can be slow, but here our meals arrived at the table within just five minutes.
Despite being a busy place, the staff are attentive and friendly. The owner, Ali, is also a warm and welcoming host. The atmosphere is inviting, and the restaurant is very easy to access.
They also have a bar/ we didn’t drink alcohol. But they offer almost all drinks!
Overall, I would happily give this restaurant 5 out of 5 stars. The location is perfect, the food is outstanding, and the hospitality is exceptional. And a personal tip—don’t miss the patlıcan salata (eggplant salad). It’s my...
Read moreThe food was very nice. The seating was comfortable and it was a decent atmosphere. However... we booked dinner at this restaurant specifically because the restaurant's website clearly stated it was wheelchair accessible. When we arrived, it became clear that meant they were planning to manhandle the wheelchair and its occupant up the large step into the restaurant. They couldn't with my electric chair (it's too heavy) and at one point they wanted me to try and drive up a ladder! No, I'm not kidding. Their eventual "solution" was for my husband to park it in some random storage area of the restaurant while my friend helped me struggle up the step and walk painfully to my seat, while everyone stared at me.
Accessibility is not something you can just improvise for the sake of earning a bit more money. You are dealing with another human being's health, dignity and independence. If you are not truly an accessible restaurant - i.e. if there is not a genuine, barrier-free entrance that someone with mobility difficulties can independently use - don't lie on your website and say you are! Suffice to say we will not be back and this review is my warning to anyone else with...
Read moreOk, it's time I write this. I visit this place for many years already and the food is delicious. I usually go for the lunch and the man that I guess must be the owner is always talking on the the phone, but always on the loudspeaker. He holds his iPhone near his mouth and speaks for very long periods. The noise that comes from a phone is probably clear near your head, but around it's just a very annoying noise. Yesterday some friend of his came there and constantly chatted on whatsapp with the notifications on loud, so for the entire time I was there I constantly heard "PING PING PING PING PING PING". Unbelievable. Why do you people not realize that headphones or the silent mode /vibration mode are there for a reason? If you already hold your phone at the height of your head, why don't you hold it at your ear and turn off the loudspeaker so that people around don't have to hear it? Or just invest in some earphones if you're...
