das Mezzanin restaurant & bar INTERSPAR — Restaurant in Vienna

We had a wonderful culinary experience at Das Mezzanin in Interspar am Schottentor. The Wienerschnitzel was very delicious and the Sirloin stake was soft and tasty. In fact it was so good that we wanted to order more. With that we had a beef soup with pancake like pasta (it isn't actually pasta) which goes without saying was also as good as the main course, as was the salad. Sweet and delicious, perfect for complimenting the steak.

The Restaurant itself is connected to the supermarket so if one wants one can go take a look inside the supermarket which is probably among the most beautiful, if not the most beautiful in Europe.

We had a wonderful experience with the staff, especially with server which served us who was very friendly and helpful with recommending the meals. All compliments to her and of course all other staff and the chef.

I had made a reservation for a particular table for 2 pm and was there a bit early. No problem. I had a 3 course lunch which was excellent as always. At 3 pm I was suddenly asked to be so kind to switch to another table as 2 people who had made a reservation for that table too, had arrived and demanded to be seated there. My response that I too had a (confirmed) reservation was met with "online reservations are only valid for 1.5 hrs." A) This was never communicated to me, I double checked the confirmation e-mail B) Unfortunately I was too upset to realize, that even under that rule I would have "a right" to use that table for another 30 minutes. Anyhow - I left and won't be going...

Zum Restaurant: gemütlich eingerichtet,modern,Sesseln sehr bequem,sauber,WC sauber Essen: wir waren zum Sonntagsbrunch - sehr lecker, schön wärs gewesen wenn die Eier zum Frühstück gebracht worden wären und nicht wenn man schon fertig ist damit Diesmal leider sehr Rote Rüben lastig (Smoothie,Aufstrich und in einer Hauptspeise)- ist halt Geschmackssache. Ein zwei Dinge waren ziemlich geschmackslos,andere hingegen haben richtig rausgestochen. Frisches Gebäck - Schinken toll!

Service: das war so der einzige Punkt wo es einige Verbesserungsvorschläge gibt; Am Anfang sehr freundlich und man hat uns kurz erklärt wie das so funktioniert und was inkludiert ist (war dann nicht unsere zugeordnete Kellnerin), nachdem wir mit dem ersten Frühstücksteil fertig waren, folgte eine 50minütige Pause - die weder erklärt noch kommentiert wurde, auch hier hätte man als Lokal einen Ansatz für weiteren Verkauf- immerhin hatten wir ja "nur" Wasser am Tisch, keiner hat gefragt ob wir noch etwas anderes wollen, niemand hat erklärt warum wir denn jetzt so lange warten müssen - sehr schade! Erst als wir gefragt haben- hat man uns unsere Kellnerin geschickt- da gabs ein kurzes " geht gleich weiter"- sehr schade dass man hier nicht auf die Gäste eingegangen ist. Eine weitere Kellnerin hat uns dann den Wein gebracht- war auch total aufmerksam wann die Gläser leer sind und hat gleich nachgeschenkt - so eine Aufmerksamkeit hätten wir uns durchgängig gewünscht-eventuell war auch unsere Kellnerin noch recht frisch in ihrem Job. Also niemand unfreundlich und mit ein wenig Feingefühl und Einschulung ist auch das voll machbar. Im Großen und Ganzen wars ein gelungener Brunch - und wir sind nach 3 Stunden...
